Found a weird problem in Live 9 with the undo function and M4L devices. Made a tutorial about it in case someone else runs into the same problem and can't figure it out.
This is something I noticed 3-4 years ago when M4L first came out (particularly with Buffer Shuffler). When I tested in Live 9 it seems to still be an issue.

CTRL F workflow in Ableton. If you didn't know, hitting CTLR+F will put your cursor in a search box that will search all throughout ableton. Audio effects, samples, instruments, everything.
You can dramatically shorten the time you take to insert your favorite plugins with CTRL F and with some extra tomfoolery you can do presets for 3rd party plugins..
For instance, I use FabFilter Pro Q as my EQ for everything. I load it up, the first thing I do every time is change the Analyzer at the bottom to Post-EQ so that I can see the spectrum.
What I did was to set up Pro Q how I want it, then Group it into a rack and rename that rack to PRQ and then save it.
Now when I want Pro Q I hit CTRL+F, enter PRQ, hit the down arrow and hit Enter and boom Pro Q is on the track that I have selected and its set up how I want it.

You can also set channel defaults by right clicking a channel and looking at the bottom of the menu, so for example every time you make a new audio track it will always have an EQ and a Utility plugin.

Oh shit thats fuckin awesome! I've been wanting to set up a channel strip for a while to emulate the 'big mixing desk approach' where there's tons of the same things over and over again...anyone have experience setting up a custom channel strip and what they consider to be essential elements of said strip?

Well for me, every channel gets an EQ and a Utility before anything else so this feature saves me a couple of steps.
