UPFRONT MAGAZINE : APRIL - JUNE 2004

Another Perfect jem from the highly talented LSD stable. Although there is an air of retro in this disc through its subtle balearic rhythmns, DnB basslines and references to classic LSD releases of the past(Last Summer Dub), the pace and drive of the disc is very definately frameworked in the here and now through 21st Century production techniques, innovative ideas and well timed hooks. This "works" as an album and should be thought of in terms of one continuous piece of music as opposed to 11 individual tracks.

BUBBLE JAM : APRIL 2004

I really like this album, beautifully produced and full of familiar sounding melodies, it is certainly going to hit the spot this summer. While i could not classify this as psychedelic trance, the album defies categorisation. Clever little guitar hooks blend with many styles, funky balearic, dubby, breaks that wash over your senses. It has a psychedelic feel to its sounds and production quality and is going to work well in an uptempo chill.

Been listening a lot to this cd the last two weeks and I must say I love it. Will come with a more detailed feedback in a couple of days ... so far I can just recommend everyone to give this one a listen.

I heard DJ Fractalien play tracks from this at a party on Saturday, and...
it got an *incredibly* good response from the downtempo room crowd.

This one sounds promising for sure. I want to try more in-depth listening.

This Cd is just what everyone needs to ease themselves into the Summer groove. I love it and have been pining for it for a while having heard snippets out and about. I think 'Indu' is a real stomper and should be bought on 12" by anyone else who, like myself, still can't help but dabble in the wax. I would go on about other favorites on the album but if I started I'd have to do the lot as they are all sublime. Watch out world Russel T Davies is out there now and there'll be no stopping him!!

Taken from Dragonfly records homepage

"‘That Much Closer To The Sun’….. a perfect title for an album that literally does put some sunshine in your life after that first listen."

Indeed it does !!!!!
.... cant wait for the summer time

Favorite trax are 1,3,6 & 8           - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest.

Every play of this album provides you with a new and pleasent surprise! this is an awesome debut album that really hits the nail on the head for the summer!
but this is not going to just be a summer album.
intricate production and inspired melodies will ensure that this one get played and played without becoming boring to the ear.
Pure sun soaked sounds for everyone! very accessible music, will probably convert many to the far side!

Here is what progressive sounds said about the single (Indu) and the shiloh remix. It's nice to see them bigging up russ's music.

Very Sweet album and a very welcome melodic overdose. Although at first sight/hearing not as deep as the average shpongle clone, this one begs to be played again and again...and only excellent albums usually have that effect.

Reminded me somehow of the ancient Total Eclipse (violent) Relaxation CD were also soft and warm synths dominate.

Prolly the 'Blumenkraft' or 'a Flock of Bleeps' of 2004: the must have chillout album.
