Nick i think that Herplex is reffering to the Thesaloniki area and not Athens.

Anyway new artists come always in various events in Athens at least, the people are complaining just because their favorite artists never come in our city for a reason or another (most of the time because not many people know these new artists and it will be probably an economic failure to invite them for the promoters),it reminds me of myself complaining that noone had ever brought till couple of years Kraftwerk in Greece and when someone invited the guys then the people just didnt appreciated that and the organiser lost a big sum of money.

In any case Patience Is A Virtue           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Let me inform you even further that at Moni Lazariston at that Kraftwerk event there were 1000 people and a big percentage of them was free entrances for magazines and sponsors and stuff, also couple of hundred people around the place on top of some under construction buidling that were watching the show for free.

The same ammount of people came also in Athens (maybe little more lets say around 1400-1500) and the whole tour was a financial disaster for the promoters i can assure you.

And since you are talking about X Dream,Spirallianz,Midimiliz,The Delta and all these people that you so much like i can inform you that i booked Spirallianz/Midimiliz in an event in Athens at one of the best clubs in the city in 2002 and 600 people came because the majority of the trance scene preferred Goa Gil that day (for the 100th time in Athens),then i booked them for a huge club in Piraeus as The Delta along with PPS Project,Mumbo Jumbo and Atomic Pulse and just 300-350 people came because the majority prefered Etnica that day and last but not least i booked X Dream on March 2003 and although i had around 1100+ people on that event the majority of people came just because Dino Psaras and S Range were also playing at that event and because the party was held at the most famous party place all over Greece back then ARK NR6 which attracted a lot of people anyway,at the end of the party people were complaining about the techno music of X Dream which didnt sound psychedelic at all to them.

X Dream and their friends are pioneer artists and magnificent persons but in Greece they just dont sell so dont accuse the promoters for not bringing them here, accuse the crowd (if you can accuse them about something like that) for not liking this tech trance sound.

I mean i still remember myself being the only one,and i repeat THE ONLY ONE,dancing in Just Dance Festival 2002 under the amazing sounds of Synthetic (side project of Deedrah for those unfamillar with the name) and everyone else looking me like an Alien and waiting for the time that Dado would step down so that someone else would play some other kind of music.

People in our country dont like Tech Trance, you just have to live with that i guess.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I am totally agree with you Detox. There are some promoters in Thessaloniki that they like tech trance as listeners and they tried to promote it at past. When I asked one of them about bringing Midi Miliz for live he told me the same things. Also I realized that maybe we won't see for a long time Son Kite again in Thessaloniki. When I they played at Ydrogeios they played a totally different sound than their usual. Many techno elements!Do you remember Trimatic? It was something like Trimatic meets Minilogue and I realy like that! But many people were complaining expecting to hear the classic Son Kitee..I think promoters sould try again and slowly to put the techno elements in Greek scene.           www.myspace.com/tasos_notrea

Detox u r talking about bookings u made 4-5 years ago... since then i believe that the croud had changed a lot his taste about music... trancers became more progressive and trancers which became more techno.
that means that if u made a booking nowdays i believe that u will have different results about the quantity of people...cause people and music are changing.
and as we speak with examples let me tell u that:
in mandraki festival in 2005 when marcus (x-dream) played a dj set, people got crazy with his music...everyone got in the dancefloor and started dancing like machines!
for me that was smthing really awesome and i believe that many people from that day changed their taste for tech-trance music, and for sure they wanted to hear him again.
my conclusion is that if u take the risk and make smthing different in this scene (and give people the opportunity to hear smthing new) maybe u will loose, or perhaps u will earn peoples support...thats the way it goes. isn`t it?

peace
