I've been listening to PsyShark Records "Trippy Sharks vol.1" on the way to work every morning this week through the 900w worth of system in my car. I reckon my driving's probably been a bit silly but it sure gets me up for the day!
I've not heard much darkpsy at parties, mostly because I don't get out that much these days, but the only time I've heard a set of it in the morning at a party was at one I went to in the jungle on Ko Phangan last year though and it really killed the vibe dead. It just didn't fit with the beautiful setting and the vibe the rest of the DJ's had built over the rest of the party. It just spun most people out and only a few were left dancing.

Dark mornings are great In the sense of a party though, when you switch out into more full power or fullon sounds its hard to get back into the organic.
IMO...If its a dark morning then it should follow a dark night and a dark sunrise.
Got the chance to play a dark morning set in Psyowa a while ago... was thrilled since it gave me the opportunity to see what it really would be like to hear that kind of sound outdoors (~9am):
psykovsky, cpc, para halu, dejavu project, samadhi, parasense, zolod, darkshire, cybernetika.
Worked well for listeners but not for the dancers. Too much of an energy shift from fullon to psy again. |

Old Azax tracks..still love those ones. Entropy's second album 'Purple People' is a complete lifter in the morning. Although I usually listen to heavy twilight in the morning.. Psykovsky is perfect!

Do you listen to the same artists you listen everytime or you have some specific dark artists which u like to listen in daytime?

Let me start by saying I dont listen to "artists", I listen to "music".
Musical taste is a personal and intimate experience. It does'nt change because of the kind of image it has or the light of the day has changed or to please someone/everyone around me, nor is it determined by how many girls are in the situation or what drugs people are taking (It's not my concern either way).
For eg: If one is vegetarian (and likes being so), they don't go to dinner and eat steak cause everyones eating it or cause its a paticularily good steak being served or cause its cool to do so.
Let the DJ/Artist/Performer execute his vision without the hinderances of labeling what is psychedelic/dark/light/fluffy/etc. and you'll be amazed at the experience they have to offer you.
You on your part have to decide what you like and make your choices based on that. There's always a choice.
If you dont like the lineup/organiser's style dont go. Its as simple as that.
In todays context, Psychedelic Trance encompasses a very wide variety of styles that may or may not have anything in common. Almost every genre of music is represented in its "Psychedelic" version. Everything from Gabba, Industrial, Techno, Rock, House, Electro, Funk, Ambient, Dub and more.
Just cause something's labelled "Psychedelic" does'nt mean its going to appeal to you cause you believe you're a "Raver" or "Psytrancer" (call it whatever you want, labels dont mean anyhing, esp. in relation to psychedelia) "Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience" |
