Is there any place in the world that has a balance between Full on progressive minimal and the isreally sound...?

where I m from YOU WILL NEVER EVER hear any progressive specially in the mornings when you are craving something uplifting Its full on psy or isreally full on space cat blt alien etc.

I would really love to hear some swedish sound at the outdoor parties

helllooooooooo........?????????

what is wrong with you people?? the swedish full on is one of the best in the world, if not the best. just look at logic bomb, hux flux, and new and up coming artists like puro and kluster. i say that in the next few years stoneage records will dominate the sweedish full on scene (that is if jonas will not get stock in goa hehe)           I never apologize. I'm sorry, but that's just the way I am. Homer J. Simpson

Well, first of all, I'll give a lot of respect to Ulf here, since he doesn't conform to the scandinavian sound.

And, yes, there is such a thing.

Spiral Trax, Digital Structures (well, all of MPDQX) and Iboga combined are less varied than Spirit Zone or BNE. The problem is that there are a lot of swedish acts and DJs which pioneered this sound and have proven to the world that they are more than good at what they do. When you have so many people that built the scandinavian sound just a phonecall away, you can either bring them or unkown DJs. Guess which ones will get a bigger crowd, and why take risks when you've got some extremely proffesional acts and DJs you know will perfom very well.

And when everyone asks about the Scandinavian sound, the first example you'll ALWAYS get is Son Kite... just think about that for a second and you'll see where this thread is coming from.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I know very little about the Swedish trance scene - but the problem of new DJs not getting gigs is the same in any scene.

From a party organsiers point of view - they want Djs that

1. people will come and see
2. will play well
3. know what they're doing

Now it may be boring & safe - but you're going to tend to book the DJs that you know can deliver. No matter how good somebodies mix CD is - its very rare that they'll get a gig just out of that - why should an organsier book someone they don't know - when, chances are, they've got lots of mates who also want to play who are as good - or they can book an established name.

The time-homoued way to get gigs when you are starting it to put on your own - get a venue, print some flyers and do it your self. Or ask any of the big parties if they're doing a pre-bar or after party - its a lot easier to get gigs here than the main parties.

Once people can see you know what you're doing and you won't play a sreaming end of the night set when you should be doing warm up (a classic new DJ mistake) - then hopefully you will starts getting gigs.

I know its all common sense - but unless you are very lucky - there isn't any shortcut - just hard work!!
