OTT your remix is simply beautiful beyond words. It's a work of art! The rest didn't rock my world really.

I didn't say that only Brothomstates did well. I said that only Brothomstates had the daring to take Shpongle, keep only the essence and totally redo everything else. I loved all of the tracks (excluding Eat Static and Delusions of Grandeur which I found boring), but I like it when an album blows my mind, not just brings a smile on my face, and considering the quality of the artists involved, this is the main problem here.

Ott: I know that you weren't intimidated by Shpongle, but let's admit it - your view of sound is not totally different than an album you worked on. And while I love your music (don't let this go to your head, but you are one of my 10 favorite chill out artists in all forms of electronic music, in which I tend to prefer IDM), I expected a deeper breakdown of the music (like you did in Hallucinogen in Dub, changing the tracks' direction in 180 degrees).           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Lest this should become an exclusively Ott appreciation thread (no disrespect, mate), I have to say that Esionjim's mix is doing it for me right now. Fabulous track.

And who's the doris on that one? Gorgeous voice.

I feel it should be pointed out that Mr Warwick Bassmonkey is the man responsible for playing bass on my remix of "Tea daze..." on Shpongle remixed - and what a fabulous job he did I'm sure we all agree.

The aforementioned "Doris" is either Michele or Hari Om whom I had the pleasure of meeting yesterday.

Agreed btw - that Esion Jim mix is brilliant.

LOL

Not any more I have given up drinking coffee now but yeah I used to get a good kicking sugar rush out of the coffee

I'll catch up with you guys when I go to visit London again. Say hello to Simon and Simon from me and in the meantime remember to put on your socks in the studio this time a year

And here I thought you were all one and the same! On second thought, not even Mr. Posford's cleverest digital tricks could create those beautiful vocals.

Back to the topic, my favorites are the Prometheus remix cuz it makes me wanna boogie even when I'm not in the mood - a masterpiece of groovy psychedelia - and the Ott remix cuz, as traveller pointed out, it is simply beautiful. These 2 are spot-on, in my opinion.

Due to the classic nature of the original Shpongle tracks, it wouldn't be hard for an artist's efforts to pale in comparison (e.g., as a Beatles fan I despise most covers of Beatles tracks). The tracks on Shpongle Remixed, though, all seem to at least do justice to the originals and in some instances offer improvements.

A great CD.
