Just to let you know, I've had similar experiences here in Helsinki. And yes, usually it's because of the immigrants. I've almost been stabbed close to the central railway station (imagine it can happen in the middle of the freaking city)!! (Where were the blue men??)
I get "mild" panic attacks sometimes when I walk home alone in the morning. But hey, don't blame the immigrants, I bet they are just as afraid when they walk home alone in the night..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Sounds like someone has a little problem with immigrants... Rosengren> you said that usualy you don't get that kind of trouble there. So that means that what happened to you is an icolated incident. That's why i resent the fact that you mentioned that the guys who did this to you were immigrants. You might give people here the wrong impression that crime is related to immigration (that's what jaque le-pene says). But it's not - crime is related to poverty!

btw - some people might consider this off-topic, but i think it's gould to have open conversations sometimes...

Its not that they are immigrants, its the way they live and disrespect our society. and yes we are going offtopic, i guess this whole topic is considered offtopic, so i guess we have to let it go...

btw: i have a lot of immigrant friends so rascism is not involved in any way.

this is now way off topic but given the two previous posts i think i should point out that it is perfectly possible for crime to be related to immigration without this implying any direct causation on the part of the immigrants.

this is the classic 'correlation does not imply causation' result of satistics
you know people who smoke are more likely to get cancer and hence smoking causes cancer. whilst in this case it is pretty undisputed that smoking does in fact cause cancer, there could be some other reason like say all people who smoke are inherently more radioactive or something
anyway my point was that the increased immigration probably increases poverty and leads to a cycle of despair which begets violence, not that immigrants just appear and are violent - they're people like the rest of us.

anyway plur people
i hope that the majority of us survived the weekend without any unpleasant incidents.           >>love will tear us apart...<<

about the kung fu.
i started to learn martial arts about 2 years ago, and i noticed in myself and in other people who study martial arts that you radiate something (self confidence) that puts people off of atacking you.

ill dare go really far off topic, for the sake of bettering ourselves and society i think its ok.

anyway as i stated before i spent junior high getting beaten alot and since i started the martial arts, the same people aproached me and i didnt show fear and they just left me alone.

and martial arts give you physical fitness and then you can dig really hard for a long time and not get tired so now my post is almost on topic.

i have studied Kung Fu and Tai Chi for 2 years and i still preform the basic tai chi form every morning. it helps me get in tune with nature and myself. it also helps me to get over certain habbits, like smoking pot when i don't need to, and fills my body with energy for party-digging also, my signiture is taken as a quote of the shaolin temple.

I don't think it has anything to do with racism , it's just facts on the surface... immigrants have harder time settling in a foreign land, hence they are poor --> need to steal ... etc ... but that's all poor people and not all immigrants happen to go through this, but it's just a frame of thought ..

Now A.Rosengren where do you live?
well anyways If there were a lot of PLUR in this world there would be no wars no fighting nothing, but that is highly unlikely of happening. so the best way is just to ignore all the bad stuff that is going on, and try to focus on your own life(thats what i do).
If someone beats you, i guess thats was just bad luck. There are better days.
I mean there used to be times when, me n my friends would get into fights. I think its just part of life.
We got the trance life full of good PLUR and we got the real world full of anger and hate and some love.
