a lot of work... well not that much since the 12 braches are alike... it took me a day to tought up and design one of the branches in 2d, then on the second day of work as i was passing it to 3d i realised it could be more tridimensional like the flower and the face, and perhaps the animal in front of the face but i never finished it... the crystal on top of the flower and the shiel on the bottom were already experiments i made with 3d string. but all together was 4 days of work

i also have a cube wich is pretty basic and a fractal "snow-flake" that is so much more complex than the trancefloor that i can barely open it(it may need less detail, cause its to much of fractal detail branches useless to the real world, unless it was made with 2square meters)

i've been trying all night to reconstruct the snowflake, and so far i only could simplify its base. as soon as i discover how i made the snowflake i'll post at least a figure if not a render, at least with the base optimized i'm pretty confident i can make a render out of it.

the time for render went to no render to 1 minute and 20 seconds, now i hope i can make a video sample for vjing, and i will also try to optimise and complete the trance floor to get the same thing

nice work, liked a lot the snowflake, what software do you use?

GAIALAU everybody keeeps asking how i do it, and not wanting to sound presumptuous, i'm almost sure that i am one of the 1st ones to do this kind of digital work. but its just math and has been here for years so a lot of people must have done it...
awsering to trancestor any 3d software will do, at least the big ones, maya 3dsmax etc...

how did you make that? very nice textures indeed they look more like real strings, mine just look a little more plastic...

what prgrm are you using for rendering and materials?

and whats the green form in the center im not catching the design of it..

I used 3d max . The material is just an standard material with no glossiness so they shine equally as the string would in real life,i also added an glow effect to the material which made easier to control the amount of the output of the glowning effect instead of using an self illumination for instance, which would be an pain to tweak .
The rendered was standard scanline ,I dont know whi is seemed easier and better quality them mental ray for the difuse color.dealing with splines . On the top of that i rendered an occlusion pass and added on adobe after effect as an mutiply channel with low oppacity .Its an comon tecknique used in 3d to bring depth .Lighting also very important to creat that kind of depth ,so i place an omni light at the center with decay "on" on inverse square falling of to the edges of structure .
Last thing the green structure inside is an separated piece wich i tought could be very interesting for animation...Ill make an render of that soon .
I hope that helped ,let me know if u find any problem in case u are using max even know i think this would aply to any 3d package.

normally i use the self luminance to apply the night effect instead of lights. only the third render of the dancefloor uses environment light because of the sky...

the center piece looked like it was not a part of the cube, but i wasn't sure, thats why i asked...           DeluDe on www.divinemusictribe.com

The only advantage of using an glowing light effect is that u can aply into the effects channel in the material/shader and control the amount of glowing in the effects window, without having to wait until it renders the whole scene again .           ----------------------------------
