Simply the best festival I've been to in Israel.
There was a bit of a problem getting in, with not enough entrance spots, security guards and ticket stampers. This was the worst part of the festival.
Also, there were many, many cops walking all around the festival the entire 3 days. I've seen police dogs discover ganja all over the camp a number of times.
However -
1) The location was amazing, with a wonderful pool, lots of grass, and it was simply a beautiful place to be.
2) There were many little shops, usually with fair prices. Varied choice of food.
3) BEAUTIFUL people, didn't see even a single "ars" or "frekha". Just wonderful. The girls were incredible, I spent most of the time in the pool simply not believing what I was seeing.
4) INCREDIBLE music. Simon Posford, played an amazing 4 hour set of Shpongle and Hallucinogen music. I simply adored Younger Brother's set, and the Prometheus set was better than the one I saw in the Aurora Festival in Greece. Haltya and Texas Faggott also played, but I didn't get to see them. Finally, there were Loud and MUTe to represent the Israeli scene.
Simply an amazing festival. Nothing more to say.
Oh, except one thing: Balkan Beat Box were great, but weren't very appropriate when they played on the Main Stage. They should've played the alternative stage. |

Great event by Moksha, the last year party in Ganey Huga lacked the vibe..but this time, totally another story.
Great energies and vibes, good sound system, amazing sets (my personal favs. were Ace Ventura,Quantize,Prometheus and of course Shpongle! which was AMAZING).
The crowd was beautiful, LOTS of pretty girls...respect.
The Alternative stage was cool, offered some great tunez and helped keeping the vibe around the pool...
Thank you Moksha guys for this unforgettable event. |

a wonderful event indeed - great location decoration and facilities, great people and atmosphere, AWSOME music all around (Balkan Beat Box rule and belong on the main stage!), such a shame then that the way this festival kicked off made such a bad impression on me that it made me not wanna contribute a single shekel ever again to the producers.
What happened at the entrance was way beyond a bit of a problem, it was horrendous and amateurish and came damn close to injury or fatality.
The setup was that each ticket holder had to exchange his/her ticket for a bracelet and deposit 20 shekels for a garbage bag before entering the park. So there was the entrance where there were guards checking bags, and next to it there was a stand manned by 4 or 5 people doing the bracelets. The stand was fenced off by iron fences, with about 2 guards manning 1 opening and letting in only a handful of people at a time. Now, we arrived at around 9 pm on Thursday, which seemed to be when the majority of people arrived too, though I was told it was a busy entrance since the afternoon, and if you consider there was several thousand people at this event (5000? more?), you can imagine how many people were crammed near the entrance at that time (with 3 days worth of food and gear, of course) - with a lack of an organised queue and slow progress inside, it created a group of maybe several hundred people coming from all directions and pushing down on the fences, and worst, on the people in the front. I happened to be getting my bracelet already when the fences almost gave in and I saw how the people in the front were about to be crushed with the mass of people from the back falling over them - it was an Arad-type disaster waiting to happen and it's pure chance that it didn't. The guards were saying the can't do anything about it and in the bracelet stand there was no one in charge that could take care of it.
What is so bad about this is that it was plain to see it was all because of very very poor planning. Anyone who has ever been to a party knows there is a 'rush hour' when most people arrive, and that one little stand with 10 people allowed inside at a time is not enough to handle that amount of ticket holders. The mess and near-disaster could so easily have been avoided with a second stand operating during the busy times, or just with an organised queue area of lines and fences, what we've all seen in concerts. This production is 10 years in the scene, so this can't be written off as a rookie mistake.
Probably alot of people think this was no big deal and that I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill. Obviously the production did too (I happened to complain to a production crew member about it later that night, and he actually said to me 'you're here now though aren't you? so wasn't it worth it?'). To me, it was a blatant disregard for human life and it was one push away from turning a festival into a horror story.
This cutting-corners-irresponsible-careless work ethic is all too familiar and the norm in how we do things in Israel, and it is exactly where the line is drawn between true high quality festivals like in Europe, and our own little swamp. As long as we, the crowd, keep accepting it, the standards will never be higher, and we'll never reach the quality the pro's keep trying to immitate.

Liluy,
You are 200% right !
1 thing though, I guess your complain was to a "junior" prod crew member and not one of the "owners/senior organizers"... because I know that they were very sensitive to the incident and did their best to solve it during.
***---***---*** *** --- *** --- ***
I will sum this event by saying that the lineup on Thursday morning kept me stomping for 8+- hours in a row! after 4 hours driving, 10 hours of work, and no sleep at all!!!
Huda G
Ace Ventura
Perfect Stranger - What a live set!! I spent half of the time watching Yuli and his devotion and concentration to the perfection of it...

by far the best event ive ever been to in israel... and one of the best in my life... it could have been perfect if it werent for what liluy said and the friggin cops with their dogs - not such a great way to welcome the crowd but ever since i went down to the floor on simons set i havnt left the dancefloor till the music was over in the main stage... simply brilliant lineup (except for haltya not showing up... i was really waiting to hear his set ) with alot of variety and every single artist gave his best you could really see and feel it.. i was personally surprised by hujaboy's set which was in my opinion along with simon and eat static were the best sets of the party... the first night and day sets were utterly psychedelic and no matter how hot it got you just couldnt leave the floor.
as for the people like it was stated here already... so many beautiful people created mad vibes on the floor and around the pool on the alternative stage - the energies were so evident that on mapusa mapusa's closing set the people just wouldnt let him off the decks... it took about 10 guards to get him to stop the music... beautiful sight and an incredibly groovy way to finish off the festival - i could personally go for atleast 2 more days cuz i really hadnt got enuf
lots and lots of respect to moksha, arak festival, walk about love and galactic and ofcourse everyone who attended for making such a beautiful event very close to home and pulling off an almost pefrect festival - i personally hope and im sure lots of people would agree with me when i say i hope this becomes a tradition

awesome everything!
sound system was monster alive!
9 sets of Function1 !!
crystal clear and kicking far away
very beautiful place and decoration.. specially the main stage (as it should be hehe)
good to see moksha joining with ronen rasta as we remember from 5 years ago.. again with the king of bad trips the real ghat whore T and extra smart P offcourse they are the Texas Faggott which were amazing.
naturally simon and younger brother (wich turn to be also very cool dude) blasted as expected.. balkan beat box was great , and URINIMU should have got main stage 100%. next time no second stage for the real discovery... last time i saw them in comfort club i was just probably too eager to see ozric (or was it the walls around?) but this time it was so much better!! great work guys! (the live trance band in saturday noon near the pools)
and David Darwish with extremely nice mixes , and general music on the arak stage alot of ragga and dub and some mixes of the unknown weird stuff lol... this was near the camping so we got mostly that throu the festival.
that brings me straight to the great freindly people .. so many people i havent seen so long time!! and getting to know some new friends too! just what its all about to me...
we had no problems at all getting in at 23:30 but i heard from friends that came earlier that it took them more then hour after get to huga to actualy get in... i guess next time presure hours will work better.
no problems at the gate for us , all smooth.. no problem get in our drinks and funny story with cigar , my friend , and dumb cop. (i bet they see more weed then cigars around here ha)
the cops was the main turn down but what you can do... atleast we are smarter lolz
all in all was great , thanx to moksha and arak crew hehehe.. what briliant weekend.

well it was awwsssoooom festival by moksha and walk about arak (ronen and rea)..
i belive it's the BEST that ever been done in IL (together with the sunset to sunset in achziv) just awsssoooom!!
like liluy said, we were there at the same time in the entrance, this was verry BAD EXPERIENCE , took me long time to forget that and start to have fun, the "arad" syndrome was verry lame.. sagiv and yuda i hope you know how to avoid this next festival..
the crowd (abuot 7,000-+) was AMAZING!
so many BEAUTIFUL girls and boys and such a gr8 vibs, sound system and all the stages.
most enjoyed from: perfect stanger, simon prosford!! hellocigen!! MUTe!! mapusa in the end of festival..
the second dancefllor was a gr8 suprize!
heaven! it's was gr8 idea to move mapusa to the second stage doe to the MASSIVE HEAT!
it was DAMM GREAT FESTIVAL!

Namaste!
Well it was AMAZING FESTIVAL
Everything was perfect, the crowd was amazing, the shops were cool, the decoration and the stage was wonderful.
I most enjoyed at HALLUCINOGEN and EAT STATIC (which was total surprise, I was sure he gonna play chill out like his last album But he played such a cool music very happy and very cool)
THE BAD THINGS:
1. Haltya didn`t show up!!!
2. the fact that there was so many FULL ON music was really bad for me, all the line up between hallucinogen and ace ventura was really bad for me and for many other people I talked to.
MOKSHA is amazing production, play quality music stop with the full on, when ace ventura started to play many good crowd came to the dancefloor, NEXT FESTIVAL PLEASE LESS FULL ON, PLAY MORE PROGRESSIVE, TECHNO, PSYCHEDELIC AND GOA (IS COOL ALSO)!!
OVERALL it was amazing festival I met many people and have a great time.
THANK YOU MOKSHA FOR THIS WONDERFUL FESTIVAL.
Peace and love!!!
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA!!! HARA HARA MAHADEV!!! |
