hey asi - i dont want to discuss semantics, using words like credit and respect interchangeably isnt the way i think this discussion should be going. i see your point about karnaf not being a regular user, but again - words like "insult" describing his post are a bit silly i think. maybe we are all touchy because of the situation now and everyone is taking things to heart maybe more then they should on all sides... all of this seems like an issue of semantics to be honest.
anyway, karnaf is a big boy - he doesnt need me to fight his battles, yet i still stand by him, for sure i can understand the other side - even though i disagree with it in this issue as i said before

btw- i went to the sakaya last week around 3am or so, yuli was playing a good set and huda was there as well... had a good time eventhough i already came wasted from work, and 'clara' previously...

Very interesting discussion...

About that night in the sakaya - i really enjoyed it like you can see in my previous post in this topic, but i absolutly understand people who didn't like it and i think they have the right to say what they think.
about the way things were said- this is the party reviews section, it's not a promotional tool for the producers (at least thats how i see it), i think there should be no rules for reviewing a party (except being polite and avoiding personal insults of course), if that's what karnaf thinks then he has the full right of saying it here.
it doesn't matter what he has done for the israeli trance scene/music/community or his 'status' in this forum or in the 'trance branja' in israel.
Party producers should understand that by advertising their partys in this forum they are opening their work for criticizm, good and bad, and they should accept what people have to say no matter who these people are. the fact that moksha can be affected badly by karnaf's post shouldn't matter at all, this is a forum, where people have debates and are in title of saying their opinions freely without worrying about insulting the producer or anything like it, if you want only good reviews then open your own forum and tell your friends to post there.
I think dudu was wrong in his reaction here and he should learn to accept criticizm and understand that not everybody will give good reviews about his events.
i like the moksha line in the sakaya because its not that perfect, its not too fancy (the place doesn't look that good to be honest), the selection isn't as strong as other places, and the place lacks the tel aviv 'poza'/branja feeling that you have in many other places. but IMO that's what makes it such a good place to go to, so in fact what i'm trying to say here- bad review from 1 person can be a good review for another person, producers please try to understand that, everybody has different taste, you can never expect only good reviews...
i hope the last part of my post was clear cuz when i read it again even i am having a hard time to understand what i wrote....

peace everybody
see you tonight @sakaya!

hey mate, i think u missunderstood me.
as i said in my pm to karnaf , it's not about the party review itself or how good or bad was it, it's about figure of speech.(even everyone is free to say his opinion about everything)
i mean, poor dj's skills is not exactly a constructive critisism for example , there are more than a zilion ways to describe a bad set and still make the dj's understand u apriciate his work and you think he should improve his skills... the that's one of the last options i would choose.
as you said when you publish your event here you are open to any kind of critisism good or bad, and it's very easy to always see things from the raver side but i'm sure that if you were behind the deck's and see this kind of review or your set, you would probably imagine some better ways in your mind how people could critisize your work...           Bottom Line Presents

freedom of speech man
for sure there are better ways of saying what karnaf said but i'll try to show you a different way of looking at things - if everytime i'm writing a review i'll start thinking how to say what i want to say without hurting any feelings i will never say what i really wanna say, you know what i'm saying?
if karnaf thinks the dj skills were poor then its ok for him to say that (IMO)
like there are 'too good' reviews ('killaaaargh', 'best party of my life', 'i've reached enlightment and joined hare krishna') there should be also bad reviews, i don't think that we should say things more gently and by that not really say what we want.
the producers and djs should be more relaxed, try to accept the reviews and not get excited by them, not everybody will like the event no matter how good it will be.
i was behind the decks many times and i got good and bad reviews, some ppl said i was the best dj they heard and some didn't like the music at all, but thats not the point, if you play for a crowd and you see ppl are enjoying themselves and the party vibe is good (like huda-g said) then it doesn't matter what other ppl think as long as you gave it your best and you saw the party was good, you can never satisfy everybody, thats why i think we should also see the reviews by those who didn't have fun.
accepting a bad review doesn't mean you accept the opinion as yours, just that you understand other ppl point of view...

fu*k this is so hard to explain...

oh boy, I didn't plan on starting all this....

Anyway, I've read people's reactions, thought about it a little and I accept some of your comments and thoughts. I still think this blew into something much bigger than it should be, but maybe we had all learnt something from it. Therefore, here is a revised review of the evening:

Location: The Sakaya bar on the border of Tel Aviv and Jaffa (or is it already a part of Jaffa? hmm...). A two levels bar in front of the Mediterranean Sea overlooking the beach. The place itself has one major good point which is being open air and therefore, without the suffocated feeling of a club.

Music: I came there before any DJ was playing and the music was, well, not my kind of hot choco. Then Dudu and Huda-G went on stage. I'm not sure if it was a back to back from the begining or if one of them started and the other one joined in. I left after the Perfect Stranger came, but before he started playing. There were some evident mix glitches and inconsistencies while I was there, which reason will stay unknown forever (maybe just a bad hair day? )

People: Nothing too exciting to write about that. Most of the people were from that sort of party goers who will probably not go to a nature party, but will also avoid closed and crowded clubs. I enjoyed meeting some old friends I haven't seen in a long time and of course, the chance to say farewell to trance-mama.

Deco N/A

Bottom line: All in all, it was an OK night out at a bar for me. I met friends, drank some beers in a cozy atmosphere. Will I return? Probably not, but that's because of this thread and because of my personal taste in parties and locations. Again, respect to the Moksha people (dudu excluded on his request) for pulling this kind of weekly event in the middle of the week in Tel Aviv.

I hope all that go there today will enjoy the evening; try to be constructive and mostly true with your review when you return.

Keep safe, keep cool, keep a diary.

Actually I have fucked up more than a few mixes myself, giving a pretty average set technically ( to my personal taste ), it's my good luck the tunes I played were awesome ( again to my personal taste ) so it covered in a way some of the flops.

It was a good night on the town and it was really nice to see the crowd going on 130bpm groove all night long till 05:00 AM.

If I would look for things to be better is definitely the DJ environement - ofcourse mingling is a name of the game @ events such as these, but I really think that decent equipment to play with is minimum to ask, that should include decent monitoring system and stable table of around 1 meter hight so we wont break our backs etc...

The atmosphere @ the venue is damn great and it was a pleasure..

nothing better then to see a bunch of your friends going at each other's throats over nothing........

i think u guys have too much spare time on your hands..... get off the messanger and do some music instead...

i wasnt in the sakaya that night so i cant really comment on the event but one thing is certain: when it comes to bad hair days - there is no competition to Huda & Dudu.....

I MUST say something too first of all I was looking for nomolos's AND shanti's replies for 3 whole pages till they finally arrived! at last world peace (or is it world piece?).
So being as objective as possible and knowing all the active souls (nefashot poalot) in the story I have some comments:
Karnaf- was it that hard to give that last review you just gave instead of the first one you gave? that would clear A LOT of the missunderstandings and prevent all the anger which followed in regards to who and what exactly wasnt properly mixing if any, and what was exactly not to your likings with the evening itself.
Knowing the place and having played there a few times last year I know the place has major technical problems as Yuli wisely said and the issue of the volume is not a friendly matter always. so if you would come in this attitude of actually pure respect towards people who are trying to do something good for the sake of the public, being who you are and not the regular party goer (and gadi & Ben G it does make a differnece! in Karnaf's position)you would write the review as you wrote it eventually.

Dudu- I can understand your anger and frustration towards Karnaf but again he has the right to say whatever he wants and you have the right to answer however you want this is why this forum is the biggest of its kind in the world! freedom of speach!

Hoping Sakaya had a good night last night and full respect again for doing what they do the best they can! I dont think anyone could disagree with me on that
