well....let's see....i usually get bored very fast by Asher's tracks....till Fire n Ice....and now Zoo2..... Fire n Ice is a trancefloor blaster! but talk about Zoo2...Zoo1 was ok for me, should be better....
as i see nobody talks about the cover and the included stuffs, but ok, those arent with mp3.
So there is a big sticker and a case insert, the cd looks like a vynil and it has little circular bumps on it, excellent idea! really great to see that there are other who's spending on the quality too! ( hallucinogen in dub contains best music from the last year and with the cheapest package )
First track Void is one of my fav, i expected an atomic pulse sounding, but no....really killer, i go crazy how they play with the rythms on every layer!
Open the Doors, nice but it doesnt work too much for me. Large Doses needed some listen to get understand, a bit funny but still powerfull. and then Freak Out comes....trackname tells everything! SX, XTC and Exaile keeping the quality and the people dance. Damage brakes the flow for me, not my cup of tea, after that Tube continues with a very good track.

boring? self promotion? i don't think so! for me that's the best Shaffel release, very good mastering, packaging, Shaffel powerpsy!

just love the skazi (and his friends...) style...
I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it? Are you prejudiced?

a very powerfull release from shaffel, but the only thing i dont like is this kind of compilations is to have 3 tracks from various artists and 6 from the same.this is almost a album from skazi. the music itself is rocking and i have nothing against it but this repetance of the same artist is boring. the idea of a comp is to gather 9 or 10 tracks from different people and combine them together, which i cant see this is zoo 2. the first comp was exactly the other way around, 3 skazi tracks and 6 from wizzy, absolum, xenomorph etc. this is ok. this is acceptable but zoo 2 is too much skazi i think......
my rating 6 for the reason above individually the tracks are f........ killer

Definatly not an album I like.

I find it too boring, and too much of the same - as with most of the stuff from Skazi.

I kindda enjoyed the Damage track though, but overall this compilation doesn't work for me.

I can imagine that a lot of people like this though, and will greatly appreciate it - especially on the dancefloor, so for Skazi-lovers this is probably a must buy.

My verdict: 4/10           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Being a skeptic of compilation sequels, I didn't have too many expectations for this one. But things were already looking good as I unwrapped the package to find a CD that looks and feels like vinyl, not to mention a Zoo 2 sticker and the always welcome DJ case insert (I think case inserts should be made mandatory by law, especially with digipaks). About the contents of this compilation, well, you can judge this book by its cover. Nice tight production, the familiar Skazi vibe, and nary a loose beat in sight.

"Free" by Void starts off the journey in style with a nice sample followed by a thumping bass, nothing too hectic, but a great warm-up for the rest of the compilation. Next up is "Open the Doors" by Skazi and Z-man (Jonas Bergvall of Logic Bomb), a delicious Scando-Skazi number with the best parts of both – groovy gravy poured over a Skazi-ish beat – thoroughly enjoyable despite the somewhat repetitious title sample. Shiva (of Shiva Space Japan) and Skazi kick it up a notch in "Large Doses", not an outstanding track but fits in very nicely in the overall progression. Skazi and Beat On's "Freak Out" is where it all really starts, and a trademark bassline with numerous breakdowns and a freaky sample popping out in the most unexpected places makes for a sure-fire nighttime killer. The only thing disgusting about SX's "Herpes" is its name – this is another floor winner, though not up there with Cost Me on Zoo 1. XTC is a surprisingly refreshing number with all the regular trappings of a Skazi guitar track, but more bearable than something like GTR - the breakdown and the subsequent build-up midway through the track is sure to get a lot of feet "digging", as the Israelis put it. Exaile's "Knock It Off" is a funky one, with a lot of well-placed funny samples from the "Aaahh!!! Real Monster" cartoons. "Nasty" by Damage gets off to a spooky start, progressing into a real beauty of a track - crank up the volume all the way up for this one or you might miss some of the earthshaking bass drops. Tube's "Meet The Monster" is the grand finale, a dark one with the only non-skazi bassline on this compilation, one of those tracks which finally make you pack up your chillum and get off the chaiwalli's mat and onto your feet. Mind-blowing.

Zoo 2 seems to have finally broken the sequel jinx, at least for me. A little too Skazi-centric, but I guess it's a Zoo thing. Skazi shows what compiling a CD really means - a great start, nice progression and resounding ending make this a truly enjoyable journey. None of the tracks on it are outstanding, but none are less than above-average either – it's like, you have a big smile at after listening to the whole CD, but you don't really know why. Great music, a touching package, and a guarantee to rock the earth below you, make this a treat to own.
