well nice hearing from all u your opinions but i would like to place some facts:
01.why a label should respect one artist who gets his advance, buys his new gear makes new trax most colloborations with other people by avoiding to make his album and then when the time comes(one year and maybe more) he appears with one album which has 3 old trax(already spread on internet)and some other avarage stuff?
02.how much money can a label afford when has a loss of 4200 cds(aproximately 24000 euros)from his own distribution? But still its closed artists continuing working and payed in regular base.
03.what about people with whom u cooperate changing the currencies on the invoices due to highest currency(from usd$ once to euros later)without the aknowledge of the label and only for their bigger profits?
04.what about artists who make rmxs(original belongs to the label) and those rmxs are not the ones that are aproved form the label, notify the label later that the rmx is sold to different label under different name.Should give a respect the label to that artist?
05.what about artists who never provides invoices or invoices with fake details.Should they get payed?
06.What about other labels who still owns to my label artists(yotopia)and they are vanished but here are against me?
Anyway there will be always people against other people but my label still is in business with some people who are honest and with whom i still cooperate(manibus, sun control species, overlap, molecular, yotopia, time lock etc)u can ask them .
Besides everyones reserves what deserves. |

i think that is the biggest problem couse new artists dont know a lot about music business, and then, labels use it on bad way...
for now im working propertly with zma, but i know for lot of problems between artists and herc.
anyway, i am not on anyone side, couse both of them are my good friends... |

well to listen to remix for the first time, remix you ordered from an artist in your car stereo instead of a studio and then to call them from your car on your way home from Post Office and to say that the remix is not sounds good and that its not what you wanted to hear its unprofessional, so professional artist have a full right to do with this remix what he wants after such a feedback.
but later you asking them to make another remix, and you knew already then that you will not pay it to them...and they did it only because Morphem their old friend asked them to do it and promised them that they will be payed by you.
If you approve the remix or not you still need to pay it, its a remix! When you as A&R asking somebody to make remix ,you should know what you are doing .
please instead of giving this excuses you could fix it and pay Midimiliz what you own them, but your answer shows us that its just another fact that you are UNSTABLE and UNEXPECTED ! and that you dont even want to think about to cover your debt.

Wow. It is now more than 10 times, or so, that I have seen such a story regarding ZMA. All of these people can't be lying. Some of thes epeople are also quite reputable.
I was thinking of purchasing the Manibus album (on AMZ, a ZMA sublabel), but I don't think I will now =).

i hope that problems with label would not have reflection on artists of that label... i really hope so... |

all this discussion has been done 100 times with this kind of man, take consequences and leave to a pro-label. |

many hard words here.....
to all this i only can say: "MAN!!!! I REALLY LOVE THE ZMA SOUND!!!"
hercules has a very good taste in my opinion. And we really want to release our album on ZMA and we know that hercules loves our music.
TriOptimum would fit very nice on ZMA but there are things that have to get clear before...
i know that hercules was in a bad mood coz he is waiting for about 2 years know for our album!
itīs very nice that hercules asked us and we have to thank him for many good things.
hercules wanted to give us a good start but imo 2 years ago our sound wasnīt that we really wanted to... still too unprofessional!
we needed the time to make a very good album for the people... coz only a good album has a chance in these scene... as bad as it is!
in some months we are ready and then itīs time to give it to the people.
the biggest bad thing is that he didnīt answers our emails and icq messages.
we can talk about all things. big missunderstandings here....
maybe hercules thinks that we are also some bad producers that want to fuck him up,
but why we should do that?
hercules was the man that gaves us the energy to produce... thx alot hercules!
if all things are clear and work fine....yes... then i think that we will release our debut on ZMA....
and i also want to say:
PLEASE DONīT AVOID the ZMA ARTISTS coz of this discussion!!
....hope someday artists and labels will work more together!
.....have a nice day....BOOM |

Nice debate, please keep on with respect, so the moderators won't close this thread and we can earn some experience reading this.
For sure each coin has two sides, and each dice have six sides (unless you play RPG, then they can have many more sides ).
The point is: we have to read the posts from everyone and then take our own conclusions.
Respect!

Spare me the dramatics.
I buy albums because I want artists I like to get $$. If I cannot be guaranteed the artists will get my $$, what is the point of paying for their album? So I can line the pockets of the unscrupulous label manager?
And, for the record, I may well purchase the album still. The point of my post was to let labels know that if they pull this shit, eventually their customer base will wear away. This is a small scene, and word will get around eventually.
I think what is unfortunate is that most psy consumers will not care about how a label treats its artists. This is sad, because in the long run it fucks the same artists whose music they love.
I am not saying that you must believe every small rumor about a label. But some labels have a history of artist complaints against them (two labels from the same mediterranean country come to mind =)). Do you think all these people are lying? If you believe some of them, why would you continue to buy that label's product?
The choice is yours... |

i think i heard this kind of things on any label u'll pick....
rumors & dirty talk became too familiar with trance scene & it's ashame ....
dont belive everything u hear !!
i understand both sides in this kind of stories artist dont get payed for what they need to get payed & labels that are waiting months after months for their money from distributer
the funny thing in this story from our perspective is that when we worked with labels that everyone told us to avoid , we got payed & everything worked like a clock , in other cases that people told us ... don't worry ... we got fucked .
i suggest to all artists & labels ... drop the phony friend sheep base relation work & start working like pro , otherwise don't cry about the shitty situation in our scene ... i believe that when all sides will start working proffesionaly the scene will rise & everyone will benefit from it
we will release our album on zma & belive in hercules that will do his best for us !
after all a label is about team work & not just individuals that gatherd to make money & fame.... visit us on myspace.com/yotopia |

mr yossi are you an artist??????
for me it's very important knowing who is good and who is bad i think now hercule is a big shit think about this: when you make tracks it's your time and your work sometimes 3 or 4 months for 1.2.3 tracks and one day a guy like hercule come and say: ok i sign your album and you never see him more. fu...
