its quite a long process in fact.
i make my digital illustrations from my own hand drawings... so first i make a drawing on paper with primacolor markers and ball pen. then i scan it, and sometimes do the vector of some parts. then put everything on photoshop and start editing all elements of the illustration that i previouslly make.
usually it takes me 1 month to 3 months of work.
its a long process, tho i think its worth it, and sometimes, depending pretty much on the hand drawing, it can be done in shorter time.
