zakir hussain @1200 mics???

i know this is a crazy idea...but its an idea!
people from india will agree with me when i say zakir hussain plays a tabla like a mad man.
now imagine zakir hussain on the tabla playing alongside 1200 mics. raja rams flute and hussain on the tabla with riktam and bansi spinning some full on morning music?
sound good.....yes,but is it possible?

What would the reasons be for not wanting MORE live percussion alongside electronica arists ??? The more live the better, bring on the flutes and tablas I say. Maybe the peformance would increase in quality if there was more of this stuff.
We want more realistic, inspiring and creative trance productions and peformance afterall, isn't that the case ??? A dream off mine is to see a tribal percusssion orchestra combined with driving progressive electronica as a ground layer...send us out on a journey we will never recover from =) |

yeah + hes playin so fast so no problem following the bpm and also he would add a bit to the bassline if hes got the right mic , im sure he would even be willing to process his tablas and his mantras live and all..hey his dad, the great master of tabla Ustad Alla Rakha (1919-2000) played @ woodstock with ravi shankar

Try to check an etnoscope show then. Maybe not yet, but they are trying to make it almost purely percussive with some other instruments thrown in for good measure. Even now though, the live is not something you are supposed to forget fast.

I'm not saying that I only want percussion, I do love my electronica, but what I'm saying is that MORE percussion ALONG with electronica is something that wouldn't be a drawback, as some ppl in this thread suggest. I will chech out etnoscope though =) |
