Dear friends and lovers of electronic music!
After a long awaited reunion, ETC and MEMCO are proud to announce the 2012 edition of ZAGOA FESTIVAL.
Over a full moon period and during 4 days & 4 nights in the Moroccan Sahara region, you will attend a wide range of sensory and visual experiences showcasing a mixture of different artistic disciplines.
This exceptional gathering will offer a top class interdisciplinary show of lighting and musical performances.
The location is an alluring place offering tranquility, clear skies,bright stars, simmering vistas, intense colours, big dunes and magical experiences. This can all be comfortably enjoyed at the festival site.
This festival will bring together some fifty artists around an original programming at the borderline of visual arts, performing arts, multimedia, design and electronic music.
DJs, dancers, jugglers, fire breathers, painters, filmmakers... will make every effort to provide a quality event where creativity and professionalism are key values.
The reunion of ETC and Memco aims to highlight and develop the Moroccan electronic music scene by bringing in Moroccan artists among other international performers, but it also offers an insight to the local traditional music scene with several attending artists such as Gnawa, the Hmadchas & the Ahwach…

The festival appeals to everyone's responsibility and awareness.
Please show all due respect to the camp and help us sustain an ecological balance to the environment that is both precious and fragile.
Prevention in terms of hygiene and cleanliness will be a central concern of the organization and through flyers and displays, any medium will be used in order to ensure the maintenance of the site and its preservation.
In any case please do not throw down anything and collect all your polluting items before leaving the camp.
Leave the environment behind you as clean as possible.

How to get to the Festival:
The festival is located some 70 km south of Zagora.
By Air:
Many airlines serve several times a week the major Moroccan cities airports like Casablanca or Marrakech.
Daily flights to Ouarzazate are also available to domestic and international travelers.
Zagora airport receives three weekly flights from Casablanca: Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Our festival beginning on a Wednesday was timed to coincide with the arrival of the second flight of the week.
By road:
Clear and specific guidance will be provided to get to the festival location in the best conditions.
The site is accessible to all types of vehicles and landscapes on the way to the location are picturesque.
By bus:
A system of shuttle buses will be implemented from the following cities:
*Ouarzazate:
From the airport of Ouarzazate in the evening on May 29th
May 30th evening
May 31st evening
From the bus station of Ouarzazate in the evening on May 29th

*Zagora:
From the airport of Zagora on May 30th in the afternoon

Shuttles will also be arranged on the 03rd and 04th of June leaving the festival site to nearby cities like Zagora and Ouarzazate and their respective airports.
The festival will be served by the transport company CTM from the Moroccan cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Ouarzazate.

We hope everything is going well and that you are ready for what follows, as time has come to organise your trip to Zagoa Festival and not look back!
Perched atop a dune in the middle of the erg Mhamid in full Touareg country, between djebels and ergs, the Zagoa is moving and awaiting to open its doors and welcoming you…
The festival will open its doors on May 30th at 8 AM.
For everyone’s safety and ecological reasons, please be advised that glass containers and bottles are strictly forbidden at the venue.
- BOOKINGS
We have the immense pleasure to announce the booking of “Altom – Florian MSK – Lost & Found – Mad Maxx – Ocean – Voyager” who will live up to their international stature and, to our great excitement, will bridge the gaps for those missing out i.e.: “Absolum – Feuerhake – FFT – Lamat – Profound “ We will miss them and they shall be missed dearly, but they had no choice, following the late closure of Zagora Airport, and given the number of additional km to drive to the festival ground, timing has become an issue for them and therefore the venue incompatible with their own plans …
To our delight, the highly acclaimed Shakti’z dancers are confirmed and they will make some envious people by joining us and performing at our venue! 8)))
- WHEN THX GETS DRESSED

- MEETING POINT
Hidden in the heart of the palm of Ouled Driss, Chez le Pacha Hotel meets your eyes at 5 Km north of M’hamid, the last village of paved roads and the ultimate gate to the Sahara desert! It is behind the hotel’s two front towers that we have set up the meeting point to access the festival ground.
we have set up shuttle-buses from the major cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Ouarzazate and due to but to the the influx of bookings, new shuttle buses have been added from Marrakech, Ouarzazate and Zagora.
Please remember that the shuttles pre-sales period ends May 25, 2012.

For people wishing to get there by car from the city of Casablanca, you must head to the city of Marrakech, from there you need to drive to Ouarzazate, then through the town of Zagoa and all the way though to Ouled Driss which is a small village located 5 km north of M’Hamid. Ouled Driss being the village hosting our Festival and M’Hamid the major village in the area. Between the town of Zagora and the village of Ouled Driss you will drive through the small and remote villages of Tamegrout and Tagounit.

- UNDER THE STARS… OR NOT!
Many types of accommodation will be made available to the attendees.
Traditional camping, Nomad tents as well as hotel rooms can be booked at Zagoa Festival in one of the the most charming hotels in the area and where the famous Moroccan hospitality can be enjoyed
A few nomad tents are still available on the festival ground. Their price on pre-sale is 50.00€ / 4 days and will become 65.00€ / 4 days at the gate.
Due to the limited number of nomad tents on the festival ground, we will observe the rule of first come, first served!

At the hotel: a new accomodation deal combining room and nomad tent was introduced.
Option 1: the first night in a Double room + 3 nights in a Double bed nomad tent at the hotel: 230.00€ / 4 days
Option 2: first and last night in a Double room+ 2 in a Double bed nomad tent at the hotel: 260,00€ / 4 days
Shuttle buses to drive the hotel guests to the festival back and forth will be made available.
A one-time 10.00€ fee will be collected fom the hotel guests wishing to use the shuttle service for the whole duration of the festival.
Please be advised that the accomodation presale ends on May 25th.
- CAMELS ON WHEELS
On May 30th , The festival ground will be served by shuttles that will leave the meeting point outside the hotel. you will have to pay 10.00€ (round trip) to use this service, no taxi or other private transport company will be allowed access except for shuttles, cars or trucks belonging to the festival attendees. On the last day i.e. June 3rd, these same shuttles will leave the festival ground and will drop you off at the meeting point outside the hotel.
Additional shuttles will be available to transport the attendees to the nearest village or outside the hotel during the other days. A 4.00€ fee (round trip) will be charged for this service.
A secure parking area near the festival is also available.
