theres a preset called anabass were all is
set for you already for starting a good bassline,
keep one of the oscilators always vintage
sawtooth 1, and the games inside the matrix and adding oscilators are up to you... |

turn all modulation off, only need 2 envelopes, one for the filter cutoff, and one envelope in gate-mode for the amplitude. Saw and sine is most typical, but only a saw is sometimes enough (depends on the wave). But that's not obligated, u can use square or triangle too if u want... I wouldn't use more then 2 osc's... Sometimes one is already enough, just make sure u put one as the sub-osc and one as the osc that's gonna provide the mid-end. I'm sure the z3ta+ has great osc's for bass, i'm not sure about the envelopes though... I don't like straight slopes on bass, the decay should be a slope that starts slow and becomes sharper nearing the end of the decay... u can do this by modulating the decay from slow to fast with another envelope. With a synth like z3ta+ u can certainly do this... I do it like this with the crystal from green oak... |
