Please educate me and list your top 5 psy artist and top 5 non psy artists.
Not just music you like but stuff you really admire and think of almost genius work, high end stuff, really ground breaking.

-Electrypnose..... just a shitload of work into his music. Not even my favourite artist but still springs to mind immediately for this list.
-Logic Bomb....... err, the last album at least. stellar trippy soundscapes. they get better every release - they're next one must be unreal
-Nystagmus (now by the name Anahata)....... Matte Gillard, a fellow Canadian. worthy of mention not only for absolutely astounding psychedelic downtempo work, but for the fact that his music actually does break many traditional rules of the genre. a true Cubase genius
-Sensient & all the rest............ honestly a lot more of the Zenon guys could be on this list... extremely musically talented, astounding tripped-out grooves and fantastic crystal clear mixing with impressive attention to frequently ignored things like dynamic range.
-And, duh, Simon P & friends. Shpongle, Younger Brother... groundbreaking? Watch old videos of Mr. Posford in the studio recording the sound of water pouring into a sink and then warping it with ancient hardware running on vacuum tubes. I'm aware that yeah, Shpongle uses sample cds, etc, but cm'on - those kicks, those melodies, fucking FAT.
non psy?
-Vibrasphere - duh. tight & crystal clear is an understatement.
-Extrawelt - techno that isn't repetetive and boring. some wicked sounding stuff (i.e. the droning bass on 'Titelheld').
-Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker - DJ and acoustic guitar. Nu-Rave meets Folk Rock. Listed for sheer creativity
-Porcupine Tree - progressive & metal, astouding clarity of sound. What distored guitar should sound like (along with clear bass, kick drum with warm low end, etc. why isn't all rock/metal like this?).
...I clearly have NOTHING to do today. Back to loading random sounds into a sampler and making sweet love to my pitch-wheel.

Wow... never thought Wizack T. had Astrix as top producer...
I would say:
PSY
- Beat Hackers // Incredible vibe, musical content and trippy stuff.
- Principles of flight // Amazing compositions and intensity.
- Mad Maxx // Great quality and aggressiveness still very nice crafted sounds.
- Flip Flop // Unbelievable production-wise sound editions.
- Headroom // Excellent soundscape design.
NON PSY
- Trentemøller // Beautiful tracks many styles.
- Aphex Twin // Technical Crazyness.
- Extrawelt // Simple, subtle, precise and deep content.
- Boris Bredja // Amazing noizes, grooves and overall feel.
- Shulman // Psychedelic chill out mastery.
I'd have IM on my list but i don't think of them as psy anymore and thinking of terms of hard electro rock or whatever it is they do now i don't think they are that good.
