Yeah, I was kinda bummed not to find a big frog in Seamoon’s photo.
I loved its part in “Outbackfrogz”.

i remember you had the bm6a years ago, are you happy with your monitoring right now is there a big difference? or what we read in forums is internet hype and overrated? just wondering i m curious about the barefoot

It is a massive improvement over the BM6A's. The Barefoot's are just in another league, as well they should be considering they cost almost four times what the BM6A's do.
I think the MM27 are like BM6A on steroids, they've just got more of everything. The low end is deeper & more accurate. Mid's & top end are also very accurate. I always had a problem getting the mids & bass right with the BM6A's.
The MM27 have a little 'vibe' to them that makes them fun to mix on yet they're accurate. Another advantage the MM27 have is that they're very easy to work on at low volumes. With other monitors i always felt i had to monitor a little loud in order to really get the best out of them. The MM27 can also go REALLY loud, not that you'd ever need to monitor at those volumes.
Finally i didn't find that they had a learning curve, other monitors it always took me time to get used to mixing on them. The first mix i did on the Barefoot's came out the way i wanted/expected it to.
So yeah i guess it's not all internet hype. They are very expensive but a good investment for me, i don't think i'll ever need to upgrade my monitors again.

i must say i strongly disagree with that, you need some sort of natural ambience (reflexion) in your room otherwise you will have the tendancy of putting to much reverb in your mix. in all the control rooms of proffesional studios at least that i have been to, they have never been dead sounding, the only place that are, are usually the vocals boths.

So what's the difference between having the tweeters on the inside or outside if you have your monitors on their side? I usually see them on the inside, but some here have them on the outside.
If anyone wants to give a description of why they have their monitors on their side that'd be nice to know too . http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound
