Very difficult question...
Doesn't it depend on the mood or even the time of day?

Anyway, I'd say for me it's either Chopin or Rachmaninoff. It's been a draw between them for years, so I can not really choose only one.

Among the modern folks - Pink Floyd, with Depeche Mode as a distant second.

For classical it's Chopin and Rachmaninoff for me too, but I also fancy the flair of Liszt.

ok enough, I could go on and on

ok I can say Future Sound Of london are electronic gods for me for decades.I'll stay fan till grave.
Music containing guitars - Led Zeppelin & Hendrix.
Classical - the same as rich selection although Liszt at first place.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

might want to remind some that this is the " trance " thread ? or is that meaningless ? ( i truly do not know )

But indeed.. led zeppelin, death and black sabbath is trance. don't mind me..

the only stuff i can and listen to days in a row is my own experimental shit.. i gotta..

i have no signature sound, artist..
i know many that can make me audially peak.. again and again.. and again.. and waaaaay beyond that, of both electronic and analog musical species.. (while i'm a very picky bitch in music )

i hate the question you asked.. but i guess some people can answer it..

I don't get why people like atma... very good production, and a very nice sound for sure, but he's kind of homogenous and not very psychedelic... at least what I've heard from him

me neither..

building stories with melody is way easier i say..
But since melodies have been done mostly.. and especially in fullon it's ofcourse hard to be original.

In 'experimental' music (timbre music) it's more describing or litterally showing an atmosphere or vibe with frequencies, it can contain melodies ofcourse though right ..

Fullon doesn't go deep enough for me, as in.. realism in sounds.. realism in emotion.. dunno..
If you listen to an arp-melody on acid it can totally be fucking trippy though. But..
melody is the easy way i think personally.. Cause with a sound/lead/crunch or whatever you CÁN get notes and tones from molulating rate's and bending pitches..
It's just presented more as how you (i) would hear it in nature.. maybe.. quantum..
which has beautifull geometric and again the amazing disorder patterns and unpredictability in it's universe...

It came to me tonight, as I was listening to a very special CD, and I realized the reason why I couldn't think of listing all the artists/albums/ tracks/guitar riffs/trance hihats/ etc etc that vibrated my core, is cos it all sounds like one thing to me. One vibration of music that vibrates the same as me. So I can't point to just one, cos all of it is doing it the same way. same feeling, and it makes me feel really good and it translates to me as a message: "Go into the world with love".

and a lot of other messages like that.

same here..

sine-waves, ultra-violet waves, ultra-sonic waves, complex waveforms, square-waves, surfing waves.. i love them all .. But i believe in waves allot ! to the point where they can heal you or help grow your weed better.. etc..

Darwin did research into if or what soundwaves do to plants and living organisms.. He and his research buddies tryed all kinds of different instruments and rhythms.. (sitars, jazz rythms, gentle piano compositions and the different ladders etc.etc.) and it proved that the different soundwaves/harmonies/rhythms affected the plants in different ways.. totally interesting i think.

waves have mysterious powers, and since we focus so hard on affecting/touching people with this psychedelic music of ours .. psychedelic music for me is the most exiting music now because we've finally arrived at using them almost scientifically on human-test-subjects on dancefloors around the world.. ; )

Don't take scientifically in a bad way.. science can be quantum.. and the quantum world goes hand in hand with spirituality at some points ..

rockit!

Maybe it's because I've only listened to one of his albums (the "Secrets of Meditation") but I listened to that album front to back and every song had the same bassline and drums, which usually makes me not like an artist.
