my psytrance-production name is "mentris"
i came up with this name because i had to dig into the world of vowels and consonants, how they are produced in the human speech-tract and their possible meanings (=sound symbolism), i write my degree-dissertation about that.
i started a kind of meditation and finally it came into my mind *lol*

~ i still don't have any production pieces but looks like it will be either V00D00 (with zeroes), Black Magic Priest or Brain Implant..
~ how i came up with them? V00D00 is my nick from my gaming days when the first voodoo GPU came out  .. Black Magic Priest comes from my interest to magic (not black one) and it sounds a bit deep.. and what about Brain Implant? weeeeell.. it's from a secret source..
~ oh and i forgot one name.. "Mi Nismo Techno" ("We Are Not Techno" in croatian).. i dreamed this name and i'm pretty sure i will force it for my first colaboration project with someone  (i can't remember the name of the tune frome the dream but i'm sure it was greeeaaaat )

Me and a friend came up with my alias terrafractyl, after a very long period with no name. I'm still not 100% happy with it but it will do for now... I also have been working with a percussionist and we have been calling ourselves Mental Extensions, which comes from a track by our favourite psy/chill artist! |

In 1993 I moved from Israel to SA. One of my South African friends which I made music with was very short and hairy at the time and we used to call him Tokolosh (a small Zulu demon thingy) this funny name became our artist name and stuck with us till this day. |

And it rhymes.
and it implies that one day we will be able to "open up" the pyramids in giza and discover their mystical purpose! (i hope)

Basically they are just very trippy creatures and I've always been partial towards them... they way they are transparent, half lizard, half fish things. Also I just like the way the word itself sounds and I couldnt think of anything better... heh..
They also have a 90% infant mortality rate, but the ones that do mature into adults become these badass salamanders. Kind of like how I envisioned my production career - high chance of death but an evolving journey along the way
