Well, we had a thread like this in the Trance thread but this one is li'l bit different. I want to know what was the reaction of your parents to music that was made by YOU.
Expecially i'd like to know reaction by parents whom kids actually chose career in Trance music as a way of life, i refer to artists on this forum that already released music and performed with it.

My parents are not involved in my musical life at all - i like to keep it that way

lol... my mom tried once to help me with a track "gilad you should have some repetative element in this track blah blah blah". i said ok and ignored that comment

hmmm...
mother: well, she helps me out quite a bit from an artistic point of view, she loves trance, quite amazingly.
stepdad: also digs the music, he often wonders into my room and jams a little, clicking his fingers and shuffling his feet, he has a dodgy background he owned a jazz nightclub and is very clued up when it comes to music structure so he gives me pointers. "more guitar, more live drums man..." hehe
dad: he has no clue about music, any music, he says my music sounds complex but the doof hurts his ears. He's all about numbers (insurance broker) so he's no fun.

*mum mumbles her way out sight*
I call my 3yr old niece, crank up the volume and we stomp taati to my music on my bed!!

My parents like some of my trance, (or at least they say they do...  ) but they're more in favour of the chill/ambient tracks i do...
They like Shpongle too...  |

I still deeeeeply suck at making Psy
so when i play it, my mom says:
"Whats those scray noises!! your not making music but trying to kill someone"
she only like when i do slow more kidna melodic stuff...
but when i do some club-trance she says, all of that sounds the same stop waisting your time |
