poor mans so whats an old used nord for ?? haha
gonna check the blacet and serge as well thanx PoM and pipes
really would very much like to work on a decent modular, when i have good skills on programming sounds and some money to spare for that, i love all these small cables for modular systems, they are like the ones on the ssl's patchbay ,, you watch the signal path traveling on red-blue-green-yellow little cables .. must be great addiction to use that

ps basically i could give at least a testicle for this one http://www.metasonix.com/S1000big.JPG .. but wont happen either way

There's slightly more difference than just the cables hanging, but I have had my fair share of analog vs digital debates.

I think I was lucky to start out with a hardware synth. I got a Novation KS rack cheap. The layout is excellent, which really encourages you to tweak away. Its easy to adjust 2 controls at once which is a real bonus.

I had a Nord Modular for a while and did enjoy building stuff on that and it had lots of knobs...but the problem was that the knobs would change meaning with each loaded patch....so it wasn't as instinctive as the Nova. Thats one of my gripes with hardware controllers and software.

I would encourage people that work in the box to have a go with a hardware synth. I think they are great to develop your skills.

i have had Pro 12 ASB & Virus TI, software synths r the same princable

I don't even take the time to delete the presets or go through them. I go straight for the default patch or init patch and work from there. Otherwise I'll never learn the synth right. Only time I use a presets is if i'm just using a scratch pad to find something I want to work with.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

I only use defaults but prob is I never save them only by the track Im doing.Maybe it could be a nice bank meanwhile.I use sometimes preset to learn only from.So similar
Also thinking on deleting them all, good for more space I guess.          https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Dont delete them, like dija said u can use search when u need some starting point, it will save u time..
If ur working many presets with one vst on many track than u should probably save them all as a bank, if u change vsts much than its no use..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

i like how people tend to make their own patches from the scratch to sound the same as most of trance

i have a feeling if you make a track using only factory patches you would make a "more original" sounding track
