Hello!

I'am finishing to mix a track, and i'd like to have your opinion about the kick & bass.

Here's a audio extrack made of three parts.

1) Kick/bass/percussions
2) All the instruments & sounds
3) The same but with a mastering ( Izotope Ozone)

Here are some snapshots of the kick & bass eq's:

Thanks a lot!

Everything seems to clip =p. Its hard to tell i couldn't download the file, had to make an account.

Perhaps use soundcloud?

Edit: Ok i just copy paste the whole thing and it works.

Well the bass and kick seems ok, i would put them a bit louder.

Be careful with izotope to have the limiter disabled while mixing.

This eq seems ok its the sort of eq i use on a lot of track and ive seen them on lot of track too.           My music http://soundcloud.com/disrupted

Its seems in your ableton meter, maybe its not, maybe its just a glitch or something.

I think its more on your eq meter. Its not too good mixing at this level.

You might lose some dynamic range.          My music http://soundcloud.com/disrupted

Kick and bass? I can barely hear them. They are way down low in volume i think. Moreover i find it to be a very tiresome mix (especially the middle part) - some synths and fx sound suprisingly loud and everything seems cramped. I also find that 80s disco tom that's constantly playing rather annoying and distracting me from the track.
Ok, listening to the third part now - something's seriously funked up in there. Did you apply some kind of high pass filter to the whole tune? Sounds like it.
My advice is focus on mixing the elements of your track, forget about Ozone and let your master channel clean. Simple is always better.

I put the Ozone when i mix down my track, using Soundforge; i try ti have the most "finalized" track.

Thank you for your advice!

I just can't find what is wrong with this mix...

Here's a brand new extract:

I really don't know how to solve this problem and bring out the kick/bass, even if i scrupuslously cut the frequencies below 250/300 for leads & FX sounds and decrease the gain for the ones of the "muddy" zone (250- 800)...

I don't why that don't work specially for this track...Usually that works perfectly...

Edit: Don't care about the noise fx playing too strong in the second part...It is some absent-mindedness...

Sometime the issue with these problem is that you might be compressing too much.

As an example if i put and eq before a compressor any peak i will add will be less loud and any notch im putting will be louder.

Taking that in mind, you must your eq accordingly to the order of your compression chain.

I would say remove any compressor u had in the track and do all the mix once again.           My music http://soundcloud.com/disrupted
