If you do a search for AAMS I commented on it in a different topic, with regard some of its uses and what its good for.
As for Har-bal, I never really got to grips with it.
It's a pretty weird (or unique) mix EQ. But I have read of one producer that puts all of his drums through it to give them a more 'together' feel.
You should get the best sound quality possible before attacking the mixdown with EQ or mastering. In which case, definitely rewire into Cubase and use the superior sound engine, then mixdown and master.
If you dont know what you're doing or have never mastered before - expect a long road in front of you. A beginner is a couple years off getting a good mastered sound. |

Ok i will search about it.
"If you dont know what you're doing or have never mastered before - expect a long road in front of you. A beginner is a couple years off getting a good mastered sound."
It's insane marketing talking, engineers don't wont to lose money, that's why they spread that garbage, don't give attention to that, one engineer can suck and one autodidact can be good there are no rules, to control it in real reality.
There always a first time right?
And there are always video tutorials to see and books to read about it ?
I'm tired of seeing ppl saying only a engineer can master music, since my own mastering make the sound a bit better it deserves to be mastered, better then nothing sooner i start sooner i will do a good job...
Just saying thank you.

yep mastering is best done at home on your ipod, theres really no need to go to a professional pre-mastering engineer nowadays thanks to the ipod and mp3 and the waves bundle...........anyone could do it with a bit of practice............don't let the corporate world tell you any different.....they just want your money. |
