Automate Cutoff with speed to make it go from complete noise to maybe a really cool lead melody, its really fun if you actually make it work!

but usually i like Lowpassing or distorting a bit!

i really love introducing percussion with lowpassing, both highpassing, distorting and highpassing Kb is really cool, even using a flanger or a phaser is cool on bass! all bout preference.

I also agree with Medea's suggestion, its really cool            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

Great thread with lots of food for thought..

Bit-crush is also nice to use for introducing sounds and slowly bring it out of the crush.

Also Delay with sending various effects while the feedback goes.. then record the feedback signal and use it as introduction material.

But i like most of all, a thin and wimpy kick and bass as intro, just so people think, huh, thats it? then when the tracks kicks in, all elements in full bloom... Also having a little weaker kick for the first section then introducing a real bang kick with some heavy psychedelic atmosphere...

I love being surprised like this, it was a long time i heard a track with such tricks, some old Derango stuff has these tricks, but way to few tracks..

I just found a really fun way to introduce the KB!
i just had to try it out! check out?

Basically i created another two channelstrips and grouped them, highpassed them a bit and added reverb, layering it with the KB and automating around with high and lowpassing really made it quite fun to work around with

fuck yeah! i use this all the time. likewise, really fun way to take sounds away as it fades out (say, taking the lead out over 8 bars during an outro).

Another way to introduce sounds (k+b; leads; etc) is to blur them up and kinda like "glue them up so tight" that when when you want those sounds to turn into the real form, just "unglue" them and let them make some kind of an introducing break and then, let them roll in your track
