Hi, do you have a particular timber in synths you like? Well, of course i know most of us psyheads love the acid sound for example but being a little moar specific i could say, for example, i like flangy pads, synch leads with leagato, crunchy squelches and dirty FM synths...

Do you have any special psy-timber you like?

Have a nive day guys...

i like making square wave organ type instruments,
and accordion type

something that simulates the digiridoo, does'nt have to be spot on, but long hold with some saw accents.

and harch electric distortions. or something softer that simulates electricity.

Should be spelled timbre.
Timber is trees.

hehehe, this is what psytrance is all about imo.... a few that come to mind:

-extremely low sawtooths with bandpass sweeps(with bp centre freq being far, far above the fundamental). best articulated as long, evolving squelchy growls. logic bomb does this all the time as fx.

-didg, as someone already mentioned, but also jaw harp. tetrameth has some great tunes using didg, but i'd love to see an actual fast didg groove played over a psy bassline.

-human breathing and/or vocal sounds. delay lama used intelligently, subtle breath samples, glossolalia through a vocoder... this stuff can really mess with people's heads when done right. fun examples: artax's "i like being wierd", vibraspheres "erosion," the stabs in shadow fx's "funktion one"

-harp. the queen of stringed instruments. gorgeous sound. great for downtempo!

-soprano sax, high register. i dislike brass in general but this one is a guilty pleasure. not really for psy or downtempo, but hey, i'd love to hear it!

-303. used intelligently, there is something magical about what these sounds do to a dancefloor. 'nuff said. my theory is that the 303 haters don't actually dance.           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut
