I like most dark. Dark that I don't really like would be ridiculously fast, unstructured noisy stuff.

As far as melodic stuff, I am somewhat picky and my taste is different from most trancers I think.

These tracks exemplify what I like:
Astrix - "Artcore"
Binary Finary - "1998" (Protoculture remix)
Afgin - From The Heart
Juno Reactor - Guardian Angel or Samurai
Vibrasphere vs Ticon - "Dewdrops"
Son Kite - "Game & Watch", "The Stars Within Us"
Astral Projection - "One", "Nilaya" Melicia rmx

These tracks exemplify what I don't like (not that I dislike it as music, I just think it is the wrong kind of music for the psytrance culture):
IM - "I wish" Skazi remix
Psysex - "Alien Cop" Eskimo rmx
Xerox & Illumination - pretty much anything
GMS - pretty much any newer stuff

I like all of it except chill and the more mainstream prog.

Dark and glitchy experimental style for example:

Osom Music, Tantrumm Records, Discovalley, Goan Mantra, Temple Twisters etc.

Old school goa, the real stuff not Suntrip (is ok but just doesn't have that um old wow factor feeling ;-) )

Tribal chillout:

Dakini Records & Chilltribe Records, Ultimae in small doses...

It is my understanding that South African Psytrance is a cross between Full On and Dark... melodic bust still with a nasty attitude.

Anyway... one of my favorite tracks:
