Actually i would go for a Virus Access, but because of that price tag i opting atm for a Novation Mininova, which is around 500€

Can you recommend something else? And what is your experience with buying synthesizer from second hand market?

If you're into Progressive psy, then the Virus TI or C are very good.
For faster Psychedelic or Dark/Forest I'd recommend the Nord Lead 2.
Or how about a second hand Virus B + Nord Rack 2?
That should be around 600 all together.

Though i need keys as well, so something with keys would be great. And it should not cost more than 500€

Yes, the sound should be prog / psy'ish...

I dont have Hard synth jet but I think the first one will be nord rack v2

The Virus TI is a rip off since the Virus B/C are so cheap nowdays (got a mint used Virus C for 450€). I would never get the Snow, cause I like to program synths using knobs and not using a screen. That is the reason I have made so much better sounds on my Virus C nowdays, than I ever did with my old Virus TI Polar, I just trapped my self into using the computer, something that you can obviously tell your self to stop doing with the full TI version, but imo, the Virus TI is an overly expensive dongle for a very good sounding soft synth.

Unless you are using the Formant and Grain oscillators, or making eurotrance and you need the supersaw, you're wasting cash on the TI.

My favorite hard synth is the x0xb0x, its simple sound inspires me the most since I am obsessed with acid lines.

Although having said that, the one that gets the most use is my Moog Slim Phatty. From leads, to bass to percussive sounds to FX sounds. It just sounds great and is extremely usable, thanks to MIDI I can record things twice for true stereo (and twice the VCOs)

My Nord Lead 1 is the ripping FM king and is very good for leads and FX sounds.

The Virus C sounds very plastic, yet very full. Great for FM sounds, brilliant for complex sequence patterns with its fantastic arpeggiator and deepeness of modulation sources and destinations available.
The wavetables are a brilliant addition to a saw bassline and the amount of programability with the oscillator phase start, yields great tonal variations for psy-trance basslines. Great for pads.

If I had to choose just one synth for psy-trance it would probably be the Virus C. It does so many things quite well although it does not master any of them, but its a proper studio workhorse.

Thank you all guys, though it seems i need about 1000 € or maybe a bit less with second hand market. I checked here in Germany ebay but almost nothing on sale when it comes to access.

I want so much the more acid sound and the chance to create new sounds, and the Virus hardware seems todo just that! So i rather wait and buy an expensive Virus than buying something which brings me only half way there..

So what is the fastest way to get me the money i need, Lol

The Virus really isn't your goto synth for Acid sounds.
Like Nectarios says, it's very plasticy sounding, and that's true unfortunately.
There's a bunch of vst's which do acid better than the virus, like Sylenth 1 or Diversion for example.

here's my 2p, for what its worth...

My favourite is my virus ti, bought second hand off ebay for about £700 a couple of years ago. I previously had a virus indigo (basically a virus B). the ti is way more flexible and sounds better to me. the computer interface is a god send. it makes it much quick to use and it has loads of knobs so you can still play it easily. It really excels at fast arpeggiated fm leads.. high tech style.. it's not very warm or fat to my ears though, so if you're after that you may be better off with something else.

Nord rack 2 - recently bought off ebay for about £300. i'm using this a fair bit too of late. it has a great sound but is much more limited in what it can do compared to the virus. really excels at noises / fxs and leads. amazing filter.

not plugged in right now but sometimes used...

sh101 - really great for bass, sampled and stuck in a sampler. kicks too. the best sounding synth i have but a real ball ache to use as no midi, etc. should use it more really. limited in terms of osc, etc

novation ks rack - really underated. a good work horse synth, sounds fat and warm, more so than virus and nord imo. cheap too on ebay. i used this a lot before i got the nord / virus... no room to have more than 2 things wired up or this would be as well...

korg ms2000r - this is really let down by a very poor filter. can get sound good fxs from it but for leads / pads / etc i have other better options.

owned and sold...

virus indigo.. as above, awkward menus...

novation a station - similar to ks rack. same great sound but lp filter only... awkward programming.. didnt use much

electribe ea-1 - never managed to get a good sound from it.

wish list... too long to print hahaha but next 2 things would be a g2 nord modular and another analogue synth (moog / andromeda / polyevovler) if i ever get the cash... tbh i need to replace my crappy computer first...

i still find that a used novation supernova 2 is the bomb when it comes to cheap but lotsa synth for the money.

i could live with just this and a sequencer.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

Well, actually i was looking for something allround solution I tried the Sylenth1 once with limited success but i will dig it again and going to check out the Diversion VST as well. Thanks.

agreed with skyhighatrist on the novation stuff, highly underated. the korg ms2000 i also agree with mark, fucked up filter and slow envelopes, but it does have some grit and grunge to it.

get a k-station or similar for cheap, you won't regret it. i am selling all my korg stuff, and keeping only clavia, yamaha and novation as far as digital stuff that i own.

wish list for me well, not what most are after i guess and pretty modest - yamaha an200 (another underated beast)and perhaps a keyboard mopho (had the module, shit menus didn't like, but did like the sound).

Last few weeks have been using a friends DSI Prophet '08 and its really nice for the price. I've been using it for some progressive house & techno similar to say artists like Robert Babicz, Guy J & Christian Smith.

Until this point I've only used vst synths but shortly will have my DSI Poly Evolver PE keyboard which IMO is one of the bes synths in it's price range, although it'll take a while to learn to program it well.

I'm also about to put a deposit on my second hard synth, a moog voyager performer edition (it's no different really to the standard version, it's just a bit less aesthetically pleasing). This will be my big boss for leads etc. finally for a cheaper price & most likely for bass sounds I'll get a minibrute which IMHO will be such a worthwhile investment both financially & quality wise.

Virus TI? I used a mates one for 3 months and its just a bunch of vst's in a case with keys. I'm sure many like it but I for the life of me could not see the value in it as there are many lovely analogue & analogue/digital synths within the same price range that sound much less digital & plastic.           Cuntus Maximus.
