It depends which studio I am in.
At home (in no particular order): Sonitus EQ, Voxengo GlissEQ/HarmoniQ/CurveEQ, Waves REQ, Waves Q series for sound restoration (because of the high Q values).
At Work: Massenburg, Focusrite, Sony Oxford, URS, Waves REQ, Waves Q series for resoration, Digidesign EQIII.

once i stood behind a massive mackie desk, with 2 mids (sweepable, and with Q), a low and a high, but that was enough... Great musicality... I'm sure it's not the best (i'm wondering how good a Neve EQ will sound if a mackie one sounds so good already), but it's the best i've heard myself.
On the software side, i like the kjaerhus audio gold series EQ and voxengo EQ just as much, both sound musical, but in a different way...
on the freeware side nothing beats NyQuistEq, but it's not a handy EQ, since it doesn't show frequency or amplitude, but it's very musical and great for automated sweeps. |
