Nectarios: Wow Very nice sounds
Lots of boxes too

So seems everyone on a Mac uses Ultrabeat unless there using Ableton

It made me look for my Attack cd today

Padmapani: The beta is still good or did it expire?

Cool thanks for the replies everyone, I have a much better idea of what I will need to get the sound
I want
And besides this I am trying to break the worst habit I have when I write of not bouncing midi down being spoiled with cpu/ram is a bad thing

you can do similar to ultra beat in zebra using the mseg envelops on a self oscillating filter , it may sound better in the highs

KarmaFX makes some badass kicks. The envelopes are really flexible, you can use them to finely shape the kick, don't even need compression/EQ.

I tend to layer my kicks. I usually have 2-3 different kicks that are layered or i use a closehat for the highs.
With that way i make my kicks as i want.

So now what synth i use to create them? i use most of my synths that i have now (they aren't too many anymore) i stick to 3-4 vsts and i working with em...Massive and Zerba both are pretty good.

A nice eq and compressor after and maybe some fx to give a special taste. Varisaturator, Noveltech character and a disto vst do the trick for me

Wow Zebra is confusing the routing makes me dizzy in the implementation, blablabjhblan According to you no osc needed kinda old school using only a self osc filter controlled by a multi stage env? example would be very much appreciated

it s same as using a sine but the modulation range is higher on the filter than on osc tune, but you could use the matrix and add more modulation that way..

btw about the topic we could list most synth there..it s exaclty like bassline you can do usable kicks in lot of synths if not most after it s personal preference.

still i think one of the best is metrum as it offer sample layering for attack and body with flexible envelops and other good tweaking possiblity, modulation matrix.. plus synthesis ( for usual sine pitched kicks, or to make attacks, body what ever..).if you can find it second hand or cheaper it s well worth the cash, but too expensive at normal price imo..
