I would think its finding your way, reaching a state of peace and happiness in harmony with the world. Although maybe it’s actually much more than that and you become something like a God who can do stuff like walking in water. And it depends whether you want to look at it from definitions coming from religions and philosophers or if you want to give it your own view based on what you feel is the truth of life. |

Forfillment of your learning path.......
To reach the level of awearness/consiousness that makes u "fool" death.........and go back home.(If u like)

That’s why I would like to take three magical hits of the DMT-bong right before I die.. It would be like a shortcut. Like sneak-walking behind St. Peter's back to get a free access to Heaven. .. Or, stepping over to the creation which is "home".

Enlightenment isnt "drug enduced". Although in my case, it was "sparked" by an incredibly intense LSD experience. Even after the acid faded, for many months on end, i was ZEN. I was so chilled and at peace, and HAPPY with myself. The I started working. Its hard to stay zen now, but I still try to smoke reefer whenever I can.

I like this description. I think its true, because after enlightenment, you really notice how ignorant some people can be.

Doesn't it go like this, to look @ yourself through the eyes of somebody else you have become, and then look @ yourself through the eyes of the ultimate observer.
Another one is. Those who control their minds, see beyond the world perceive through our senses, tap into universal knowledge and duality, and choice melt away as they manifest their perfect reality.
Something like that |

enlighment is the opposite of blindment
is when u left ur ego behind,and ther is nothing to seperate u anymore with cosmos,then realise and experience the complete union of ur microcosm with the macrocosm around,and ur conciousnes is fully awakened ready to merge with the supreme conciousnes,and able to see the truth of reality in the exostance of space and time.

for me Enlightenment : is a person who attains a thoughtless state of mind , which actually makes the person see the thngs infront of his eyes or feel things , Without any comparison : human mind is a powerfull pet which has to be tamed : thoughts keep arising every second of time , "am i lookin good?" , " is she lookin at me" , " if i would have done that yesterday,that would have happened" .... thoughts which have no meaning , as the person does not live in The Moment , 70% of the time the mind is occupied by Time itself,as in past and the future: once the mind becomes silent,and stays in the moment,then you see the world as it is, not by comparisson:
ok exaMPLE :when you were very young 3-4 years old you see a flower for the first time , its soooo beautifull : you go like Woooow its so awesome and beautifull ,... then as time goes by you see more flowers... and then now..when you see a flower , you compare it with all the flowers which you have seen in your lifetime, stored as memories in your brain ..and you compare it with all the flowers in your memory...and sat aah this one looks like that one , but you dont see the flower for what it actually is:its real beauty and colors and everything else it posseses, you have to live in the moment, without any thought arising ..only then you will see the whole world as if you are seeing everything for the first time .. and that my friends is the Awakened mind.
as a very intelligent man puts it : its not the hours of meditation , its the meditative state , that counts. to realise that you , him , her ,self all are drops of water ,falling into the Divine ocean , so we are the ocean , once we realise we are not merely drops , but the ocean , we will awake from the sleep and see the 'real world'
its just my little understanind of this concept which i am desperatly destened to achieve..maybe for some it may make sense , for some , may not .. as we are all individualls ..and we will have our own experiences .. and will find the peace and enlightenment we all seek

That is THE funniest post I have seen on isra so far!
Seriously, If you mean a mini-satori, a glimpse of enlightenment, then I think I know what you mean.
But once truly enlightened, which is also a physical and chemical brain reaction that turns most enlightenedees into gibbering - yet contently peaceful - wrecks; there is no going back.
It can be all too easy and comfortable to confuse a peaceful demeanour with enlightenment... close but no cigar.
Within this timeless gathering,
a shining light does dance,
lost from conscious memory,
but visible in trance!
