YB never was interesting music to me, except some tracks of 1st album. I don`t care, where they are going, but it`s interesting to see other people caring. And understandable.

remember that Simon is also working on the new hallucinogen album.

I can imagine as artist they must get bored to give people what they want time and time again, its natural they wanna go in new directions.

I hope that they can cover a great spectrum of styles in their individual and collective projects.

Imagine for example somebody that all his life has worked on enviromental NGO's and he becomes and important speaker and activist, because of this they are invited to some UN forum and to colaborate with the goverment, just because of this they have abandon their ideals?           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Whoa! UN?...
Just kidding. I know what you meant.
Don't know what the big deal is here. Don't know what's the big deal about IM either. They used to make music you liked, now they make music you don't like. Listen to the old records and don't buy their new stuff. Simple. For every Sacred Elder who lost his marbles there are hundreds of new talanted producers we may miss - because we keep bashing Duvdev's "singing" instead of surfing Ektoplazm and SoundCloud. For the record, I cannot stand that "singing" either. But I'd rather dig into the New-School Goa and the Suomi threads or pick a few names from Darkpsy threads and discover something new and interesting instead of repeating for the 1000th time that something lame is ...well... lame.

Maybe it's just because I'm a noob and never emotionally invested in these producers' music. Never heard anything by YB, in fact. Who knows, maybe I'll also spend my days bashing Filteria after decides to produce RnB. Maybe I'll write something hysterical when OOOD start playing grunge. Don't know. Maybe. Until then, just don't see the point...

well, it`s very understandable and logical, that some people are disappointed, even so I would recommend to not attach to old music that much. Changing.

Well yeah, when you're not emotionally invested in the music then its easy to step back from it a bit

I mainly use the IM reference not so much as a bashing them thing (which I've done my fair share of on this board, don't need to do more of it even more gratuitously) so much as an example of someone who was once really great and is now really horrible (of course, yes, this is all subjective) - they kind of became to me like the 'jumping the shark' of psytrance.

You've never listened to YB eh? Try an experiment for me....listen to Night Lead Me Astray, then listen to Sleepwalker part 1 and part 2 - I'd be interested to hear your reaction

oh and btw - I can bitch about IM in one thread and have a shitload of ektoplazm windows open at the same time            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

the big deal here, is that psytrance/chill out/ambient whatsoever fans are attached to old formulaes.they like something immideatly they connect to it, and if an artist makes something diferent - it is crap.if they make the same formulae, they become boring..

it is human evolution - never to grow attached to the same things.

btw how many of us use the same old phone, or the some old atari?
none right? (except some)

this ultematly is all reduced to peoples tastes.

i totally understand if an artist make something diferent..after years producing the same stuff, if it was me i would search for other musical horizons           ...

Are some psy/chill listeners like that? Sure.

That is not the entire picture. Just because you like something that an artist released at an earlier date and then you don't like something new that they release that does not mean that you are being stuck in your ways necessarily and are looking for the same thing.

I'm all for people changing up their sound, trying new things - Twisted have been very good at shaking things up and changing quite a bit, and most of the time I'm completely down with that. However, I also reserve the right to not like something and call it crap when that's what I think of it. I'm not pining away saying GUYS JUST MAKE A WHOLE ALBUM OF SLEEPWALKER MKAY??

Just saying the track sucks. for me.

Just because something changes does not automatically mean that it is a good change            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Is this thread about YB or this specific track? Aren't you guys confusing things?

YB: some nice tracks, not all of them.
This vocal ambient track: uughh! it's horrible. Let the vocal thing to IM and Britney, it's a crowded beach, no more room for bad voices there.

well the thread is about the "new style" of YB - and sofar the only stuff that's been released is Night Lead Me Astray and Pound A Rhythm, which is what everyone is talking about.

Basically the contrast between the first two albums and the new material. It may be a bias on my side, but it seems that I see more people being vocal about how much it sucks than people being vocal about how awesome it is. Then again, I'm basing my opinion on this site and their facebook comments alone.

Maybe the cutesey fairy pop trance boards are lit up with threads praising it            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
