The remix of this track is far better and has much more of that YB sound that I love so much. You can download a legit copy for free from here: http://www.themahoganyblog.com/2010/10/younger-brother/

I agree! The remix is very good (and is free)           Sérgio Xamanist

I enjoy heaps of pop, electronica..."gay music" like lady gaga.

YB's first album was different. I love it.
This is shit. Even their last album was a complete meh..

whatttt

last album meh?

Sleepwalker just by itself (well its 2 parts) is more than enough to keep me going back to that album again and again.

Trust me - put on sleepwalker, take a spirit molecule trip and tell me that it doesn't move you to the astral realms and beyond

However, that album also contains "I Am A Freak" which is one of the only tracks in the entire Twisted catalog that I really dislike. Everything else though....very nice to my ears.

But yeah, Night Lead Me Astray? Coldplay garbage.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Did you just hint that Lady Gaga is better than Younger Brother? Jesus Christ... What the hell is wrong with you? It's an insult to gay people to say that Lady Gaga is gay music...           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

It's also an insult to all ladies to have "Lady" in her stage name.

Sigh, its all I can do to resist my near-constant urge to wax poetic about the Twisted catalog when I hear people say they didn't like the last shpongle album

I must have listened to that album at *least* 70 times the whole way through since its release. When it came out and there was the big kerfuffle on the twisted forum abuot piracy and stuff I made it a personal mission to spread it to people who didn't otherwise know Shpongle and...a lot of people got hooked on trance and psybient after that.

That being said, I am cringing in anticipation for the new YB. Please don't be all like Night Lead Me Astray...please.....            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I like this a lot. Very cosy and shoegazish. I'm looking forward to receiving all the great stuff I pledged for It's been quite a while that I've been looking forward to an album so much. Just prooves that Twisted still delivers.

Not that I mind too much, but it strikes me that a lot of people in the world of electronic music automatically refer to music as gay or coldplayish if it doesn't feature any banging bassline, contains lyrics etc. Quite a limited way of thinking, ain't it. And the irony is that, for people who are into Indie music, nothing could be more gay than popping acid and dancing barefoot in the forest. So, after all it might really be time we extended our vocabulary a bit.           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

IMHO, what a steaming pile of turds.

But hey, if it makes 'em happy, I am sure there is an audience for this middle of the road, plastic corporate sounding consumerist fast food pop (at least to my ears and mind).

First of all - you make awesome music. Thank you I'm more excited about an album from you than this YB album to be quite honest

Secondly...I'm quite a big fan of the entirety of Twisted's catalog (as you can see from my sometimes obsessively fanboyish comments across various message boards) and I love how they experiment in different directions...but the direction that they seem to be going in based off the night lead me astray track...idk, seems more mainstreamy/accessable/pop than anything else. I would absolutely love to be completely wrong though and have the album blow my brains apart when it (finally) drops            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I haven't listened to the new stuff cos I don't need or want to, but I can say right away that.. I would probably do the same thing if I were Simon. Why not? I'm a musician who probably played music like this before getting into electronic twiddling, so why not play in a band again? It's fun. Writing songs, jamming with band mates.
The music may sound gay or whatever but hell, its fun to make and maybe it'll even sell records and he'll open for coldplay. As far as I see it, Simon has given a lot to psychedelic music and if he wants to get his feet wet with indie pop, good for him. Nobody has to like it, but it's a shame to lose respect for the man cos this is what he wants to do now.
I just listened to those two tracks Aluxe posted of older YB and feel very satisfied. He has my respect to carry on with new music however it turns out, even if it's nothing I would ever listen to on purpose.

I don't think anyone here is being an excessive trance nazi and saying hey FUCK simon and benji what a bunch of twats, I'm never listening to any of their shit ever again because this is bullshit

just saying that...eh...the direction is not something I appreciate. I for one have been constantly amazed at how they have been able to consistently release music that I really like for so long while still being unique and original and experimental. Well said Rich.

Tired of all the bashing of artistes who choose other directions.

Started with Skazi, then IM, GMS, Azax, etc etc...

Guess Trance Visuals makes the most killlaaaarrgggghhhhh 1000% mushroomy blow your mind trippy bubbliciously hallucinogenic visuals...so he/she/it gets ticked off when something like this happens.

Care to put some of your works so I can judge /bash/puke on your hardwork ??

First of all - thank you

I don't want to argue with you about your taste (because we all know that's useless), but one thing I cannot support at all is that this muisic should be mainstreamish or poppish. Come on. Have you ever heard a time signature like this in the radio or on TV?
No bad feelings man, but that was aexactly my point: As soon as music has sing-along-qualities and features guitars, people in here tend to call it mainstreamish and poppish. There's so much awesome easier accessible music there that still is far from being mainstream. Heck, why do we call some music mainstream anyway? Just because some musicians attract people who are still willing to pay for their music and support them?           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!
