IMHO, what a steaming pile of turds.

But hey, if it makes 'em happy, I am sure there is an audience for this middle of the road, plastic corporate sounding consumerist fast food pop (at least to my ears and mind).

Just not my cup of (mushroom) tea.

You seem like a nice chap, can I hang out with you?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I am anti-shanti

Any way the album will rock:

Meh. Night lead me astray was underwhelming for me - too much singing, not enough psychedelia and synth twisting. I try to be as open as possible but to me, based on night lead me astray and pound a rythm....they're not going in a direction that I appreciate as much as their older material - I'm all for new and different, but this doesn't sound new or different to me.

I am now expecting the album to completely suck, so that I will hopefully be pleasantly surprised when it doesn't. I am glad Simon + Benji stopped bitching about piracy and instead decided to try the Pledge music thing to see how many dedicated fans they actually have...let's just hope those core fans are actually happy with what they are helping bring into the world

Fuck, I really wish I had the 300 pounds for a studio workshop with them when that was one of the things you could buy. Had to settle for a T-shirt :

most lads in here should start to listen to music as music and not only as psy music...

i like it its good work near the trip hop/experimental area.. seasoned with psychedelia!           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

Did just listen through the song in the beginning of the thread, and i have some different opinions, mostly positive

To begin with, this kind of music,a voice,a guitar and drums is for me a concept which i very rarely listen to,it is nothing i myself ever play through my monitors or earphones but if someone else does it i might stand it.I can enjoy all kinds of songs as long as they are good music and then the genre does not matter.I think it is good to not be to stuck in the "genre thing" because then one judge all songs in that genre by ones associations and feelings by all other songs in that genre, and then one already almost has one opinion about it even when one have not even heard the song.

I think this track sounds a bit like a radio "guitar, drums and voice" track but still with some electronic influences, although i think that there is room for more of them, but that is just according to my taste and i understand that Simon wanted to try something else and not get it "Shponglefied" .A tree can have branches going in different directions.

However, this is nothing i would play myself, although i might check out the other songs and have a listen, one should stay open minded. But this kind of music is something i never and really never listens to myself but since it is Simon and i dig his other stuff it could be a bit fun.Judging from the musically perspective and not by personal taste i would say it is good, sounds at least the same or better then modern radio stuff in the same style and the guy clearly can sing.

This is shit.

Coldplay is shit.

Old Younger brother did some decent songs, but they weren't psychedelic enough.

totally gay, I hate it.

I LOVED their first album. It was ORIGINAL and had magic and a psy edge.

But this shit is the typical whiny fake sounding music which I can't stand. Cold play sucks ass too. Sorry guys.

Damn no wonder why some people start to feel like they lost it.

Dig this instead:

The remix of this track is far better and has much more of that YB sound that I love so much. You can download a legit copy for free from here: http://www.themahoganyblog.com/2010/10/younger-brother/

that first track is too long for MTV and VH1 or MUSE or any music channel..they will have to a 3minute edited version if they want to hit the airways..obviously the music caters to a much wider audience now..its no longer in realm of electronic ambient, chillout (yes you can chill out to it but as genre style) its straight up soft rock ...its good very good poetry but the problem with this there are lot of great poets out there and lot of great bands and the style of music is very mediocre and unimaginative very average compared to what Younger Brother actually makes..if a newbie were to judge YB with this it would be really sad..i think the shoes dont fit..i like the poetry but musically they are capable of much better stuff..this very constipated and groany style ..it makes them sound like one of those heroine addicts. they should incorporate more of full orchestral stuff they use in shpongle and yb and go pink flyodd style rather than coldplay..           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

I think an artist has the right to look for new insiprations and try new directions! I support their change 100%, nevertheless, from the clips that you have posted there is nothing really innovative about their new project. it sounds like many other alternative music bands (ok yes coldplay). I am still a fan
