Irony. I see a post from Benji on their Facebook saying their album has been leaked. Thanks for the update guy...lol wouldn't have downloaded it without that news. I mean, I pledged months ago so I'll be getting a legit copy when its actually released, but still...funny.

It's pretty fucking bad. That singer Ruu they got is TERRIBLE. Absolutely nothing interesting to say, even during the rare moments when you can understand what he's saying. Sound design and flow of the music is BORING and STALE.

So god damn dissapointing to hear this type of dreck from Twisted. Shameful.

I don't need them to make trance...but god damn.

the singer isnt bad for my opinion ..

but yes this is not younger brother.. not even one sound that remind younger brother..

i like Train, Pound A Rhythm,Shine also is a catchy one..
they should start a new band name for that music

That's the thought that keeps crossing my mind. I normally make it policy to try before I buy, but figured "What could go wrong? It's Younger Brother!". I haven't heard all the tracks yet, but these comments really make me expect the worst since the tracks I have heard are very unremarkable.

I totally agree that artists need to change and explore as they see fit, but using the pledge system to harness the support of your core followers in order to completely change your style to appeal to a more commercial audience seems to be a bit of a kick in the nuts. I wonder what the long-term affects of this album will be. If they fail to appeal to that wider audience, and have shunned their core followers, where does that leave YB and even the Twisted label when it's all said and done?

Was never into their music anyways...soo

But they'll probably just do their old style again and people will forget and hail them as gods again           www.beatagency.dk

i just think that they have in that way 1000 people buying the cd for sure, and not 1000 that will download it after they will release it
they can print the album i believe with out the pledge , but than people will download it for free for some reason no?
but any way - in this way they assure people purchasing an album           Check out my music page - free music , new style and more :)

OK, I decided to download the album for 'preview' and have only quickly flicked through it, but this is obviously pop music , they should just get on MTV or something and try and make some money as this is clearly what they are after.
If they took the vocals out of 'System 700' you'd have a pretty cool track , a deep house techno kind of style, seems to be the only electronic one on there...

How do any of you know that these guys are making their music sound like this in order to make money?

Perhaps this is just the music they want to make these days...just a thought.

I don't like it either but I think it's slightly arrogant for any of us to assume that they are making this new sound purely for commercial gain...

Having pledged for this, I felt so free and downloaded it as well, assuming that my position might be a counterpoise here.

This album is utterly beautiful from the first track on. There's no in-your-face psychedelia in there indeed, but it's filled with small but lovely (and, for the record, youngerbrotherish) details underneath, all very subtle. It has a very warm sound and touches me deeply. "Spinning into Place" is pure bliss, but as for now I haven't found any weak tracks in there. It all fits together perfectly.

I'm not going to comment on the ongoing debate about this turn YB have taken (even though I think it's not big and unexpected of a turn), as I've done that already in the other thread we had at Trance section. All I'm adding to the discussion is that you're missing out on a marvelous piece of music

To each their own I guess. I wish I could like it.

Just can't stand Ruu's voice. God awful. and the usually stellar synth work seems...yeah I just can't find a word for it besides boring.

and it seems they're back to bitching about piracy and threating to leave the music industry again on their facebook page.

Benji flat out said they are not interested in touring to make money as he 'wants to watch his family grow up' - and that they are basically studio recluses who release an album every 3 years and if they're dinosaurs in that respect then maybe they should become extinct. I would sooner have them not release music than release more stuff like this :\ - I can handle people bitching about piracy if their music is good, but if they're releasing crap AND bitching about stuff needlessly then...yeah respect going down.

Twisted looks to be in rapid decline, what with this new dumbed down pop sound from YB and Ott releasing his new album without a label...I'm sorry but I really tried to like this new album for its own merits, as I knew that it was going to be a different sound and I'm cool with different...but this is just....boring soulless crap to me. I wish it weren't.

sigh. at least the shpongle EP was awesome.

I must say I like the music, the instrumental aspect or whatever it's called. But I must agree that they could have found another singer for some of the tracks (it doesn't fit all and in general is not such a pleasant voice), he's voice is the one thing that brings the tracks down if anything.

I also have a hard time liking his vocals. The music is OK though.

I also had the same feeling toward Shpongle's female vocalists. At times they were even singing out of key.

I don't understand why they (Simon) chose to work with singers who's obviously are not that well vocal trained.           www.beatagency.dk
