Sounds pretty good, but we need more twisted samples and voices!            - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest.

hmm I'm too not sure about this model.
But if it's done in a rather good taste I believe it's ok, and probably needed.

I wish there were more limited promo copies (yeah I know it will contradict the idea).

anyonen know if the price of the CD includes shipment?           To Infinity And Beyond!

I don't really get what anyone would not like about this pledge model... If you don't want to hear the songs but want an album first listen magical experience, then you can just pledge and don't look back.

And IMO, offering unique content like they do on the pledge site is the only way to counter piracy in such a way that they can actually release the album! Why? Because these things they offer cannot be copied! Workshops, meetings, physical content... They have to get the money to release the album someway!

People think they might be whoring themselves out like this? Come on... That's just a very negative perspective to take. I'm convinced it's not just for the money, but they like doing this aswell. You realize they could also have just taken the easy route and go to other (bigger) labels?

The fans who want the extra stuff will get it (and will be very happy with it, as will YB). Why deny this to them? And other people can just order the album and don't look back. I don't see a problem. It's all about how you use it.

It is clever to get the fans to advance money on the project. Not every act is going to be as successful as YB though... fortunately.

Yeah I haven't really seen any arguments based on things other than "my music-chakra feels disturbed by this model". Pledge music is awesome. Suck it up.           Goa Goa-trance & Psytrance parties in Oslo, Norway:

Thanks for the laugh! And I mean no sarcasm here at all.

My response to the pledge music thing is that it may, MAY, create a hierarchy of fans. Meaning the more financially strong fans who can afford to pledge for the more special items, like the meetups, and the members singing on your personal track (LOL), will have more of an advantage regarding the music.

But then, on the other hand, putting more money in the hands of artists like this is always a good thing. So I'm split.

Advantage in what way? Sure, they may have bragging rights and get better perks because they could afford to contribute more, but what affect does that have on your ability to buy and enjoy the album when it's been produced (in part) because of those larger contributions that made it possible?

At this point it's not just about the album anymore, is it?

Guess it depends how you look at it. Personally, I think that if I buy the end product (CD) and make a point to buy a ticket to see them when they come through, I've done my bit. I find the idea of paying ~$60 USD for a thank you note a bit silly. But looking at it as a means to an end, it makes sense. If someone else is willing to pledge a level of support that I'm not and it makes the production of the CD possible, then more power to them IMO. There may wind up being some kind of favoritism or hierarchy of fans, but I see it having little effect on my experience with the end product. BTW, I'm not at all criticizing or disrespecting your view on the matter. I believe I see where you're coming from.

I also acknowledge that this type of model is one that could be abused by an unscrupulous artist. Hopefully that's something we won't see with those artists supported in this forum.

Couldn't agree more

Anyway, I will buy the CD for sure, maybe through pledge or maybe through twisted.

Cheers.

Eh... I may have misunderstood the entire thing but:

If you want to buy it from Twisted, then first it will have to be released.

In order for it to be released, the plegde needs to be fulfilled. In other words, people need to pledge so that it will get to 100%.

Soo... In other words... Don't wait, but pledge, otherwise you're waiting for nothing!

No, no. Everything's fine on my end here too. I completely understand what you're saying too. I'm just providing another viewpoint.
