this always was the matter of life!

the ego get over you by the years and kill your Young soul...
I believe that people who lose their young soul, lose their real taste (the taste that fit them and make them happy for real) & lose their happiness by the time...

i love people who think and choose things as young souls, with tact of course!!!

bottom line:
people lose their ability to know what they really like because their age ego and the environment.
it happening in music taste as well as in food taste!

what you think???
can you see this happen too?

Well, I think it's ironic that you post "old people suck" and then "I like young people but with tact".

I personally consider myself very young in spirit (I may be 25, but mentally I'm still 12!), but seriously, do you think that people suddenly stop hearing music they always loved and start becoming boring old people at a certain point? What does age have to do with ego? If anything, the most ego-driven people I've ever met were in the 8th grade while I was studying there, closely followed by some 20 year old officers in the army.

If being old is making calm decisions instead of acting impulsively all the time, I really would think that old people would have much better tastes than the young ones. Of course, this is not necessarily true.

In short, I don't agree with you on any one of the points you mentioned.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

i feel exactly like you....
just the other way around
when you are a child, you are exactly this :childish. so you like childish music and childish play-things (childish relationships, whatever), when you grow up you grow taste, you make experience, you know yourself and the world around you better, this is why you seek better things in it (the world) and in you.
if you want i can be even more specific and to the point :
you can spot the diffrences between a "child" performer and a "grown" performer really easilly, and im affraid that the ego part usually shines like the sun in ber-sheva in group A (child), watch 'em waving their hands and making a big show for the audience when they dont know how to mix or write MUSIC. for every "grown" dj\artist you give me, i will give you 5 children (in pairs ).
so, what is ego ? liking things that are different from what you liked as a child ? or liking a lot of attention and lack of self criticism ?           www.a-balter.com for info, shows new tracks and more.

Kaz and Avishay...i agree allmost to all your points (beeing the old fart i am) but i think the whole "ego" thing has nothing to do with age but with personality(which age effects...)
any way please call the nurse cause its time for my mashed apples and mashed chicken, and i had a little accident with my "kateter"...now im "full of my self" ....guess Slomi was right after all...

It needs consciousness to be happy. It needs intensity to be happy. It needs awareness to be happy. The world can never be happy because it has no awareness. Society has no soul, only man has it. But it is very difficult for the ego to accept this.

we are all inocent... ...

But when something is so powerful, there is danger in it. You can be hypnotized so much by it and its power that you can lose your soul. If you have completely forgotten how to be aware, then the ego is created.
Ego is the state of utter unawareness. The mind has taken possession of your whole being; it has spread like a cancer all over you, nothing is left out. The ego is the cancer of the inner, the cancer of the soul..

In fact, without our knowing there is only one soul of the whole universe. The trees and the birds and the animals, and all that is living, has a universal soul. We are simply parts of it, and our ignorance consists of our thinking of ourselves as separate. That's what is called the ego....

Im 32 years old and still learning something new everyday with tact of course!!!..........
You have not gone far away, they have gone far away and they have been going on and on for millions of years. The distance between the real man and the man that exists in the world has become almost unbridgeable. They are so far away from their own realit
