I really dig the TI for basses.. Maybe not 145 fullon. But still 138 is no problem. Unstable? No problem with that. Definitely prefer it above the sylenth and any other softsynth I have tried.

+1 even for 146 bpm. will post after the weeknd a shot. i think the trick is in mixing osc./filters one osc, one filter alone is pretty thin. and at the end its always taste probably. |

using Virus PowerCore (same as Virus B) all the time for base lines and never had problem regardless what bpm the track is,
maybe some of you guys need to work on your programing skills...

think so? actually i really like that baseline better then some of the baselines you used in other tracks (of which you said you used logic synths, albino or trillian) ;-)

There's no accounting for taste
I like the character of the included waveforms in Trillian more. I have to say the "analog" LPF in the TI is not bad at all. It is the saw wave I am not into that much. The square is slightly better sounding.
Having said all that, and even though, personally, I am not over the moon about this bassline patch I made in the Polar TI example I posted, the Virus can make a bog standard single saw 16th bassline, just fine and you don't even have to sample the notes to get them stable enough. Whether some people will prefer it than something else, is down to taste.
Peace out.

+1 to DH bout the sawtooth
have asked Matt at the forum bout the Classic waveforms and he replied that they wanted to keep the CLASSIC sound of the virus.......??????????
i personaly use the Hypersaw turned down to one saw and use the amp env for vol and filter then use the filt env (with a really fast decay and no sustain) to tweek the transients of the note..ie attach it to the filt or osc balance or sub osc vol or eq mid level and freq and so on....but yeah you got to lock that osc down bud

seeing as were on the subject
What do any of you guys think the TI needs to
become a better FULL-ON machine
independant Osc phase shifts a defo
Sawtooth Wavetable made up from a few classics
( ms 20,tb303,oberheim and so on)
Exponential Envelopes a must aswell

The Virus IS the full on machine, which one was of the reasons I did not like it, but it was down to the way people programmed the patches and used it in their tracks. It sounds a lot better through the Soundtoys plugs, especially Decapitator which I find my self using more and more these days.
Jordan (the other half of Disco Hooligans) found a really cheap Polar TI in a studio clearance (600€!). Its raw sound is not great, but its not bad either. The thing is that it is so practical to use in the studio...a digital hardware synth, with sample accurate timing and you can work through its sub-menus using the computer editor and I can save the whole channel strip setting in one go in Logic.
Peace out.

Speaking of which, is it possible to import your own wavetables in the TI? I have been searching the net and stumbled upon some old forum threads where people say it is not possible. Anything changed since then?
Peace.

bollocks. would have been really good if they'd implement a wavetable import...thought some Waldorf engineers worked on the creation of the Virus TI...oh well.
Peace.
