I traveled 5 hours to get to this party and its the first proper trance party I have been to since Gaian Mind, so needless to say I was pumped. I came mostly for Ocelot. I agree that compared to his set at Grand space a year earlier things have changed. I think his music is getting really hypnotic, hence the swaying and nodding, not the jumping and rocking of typical FULL POWA music. He recently said somewhere that he is trying to push some musical boundaries and then find a beat in there somewhere. Contrast that with KOXBOX who really surprised me and glued me to the dance floor. His Music is really focused on rhythm and plays a lot with funky break patterns and build ups and such. To me they have different approaches to Psychedelic Music.
My suggestions would be to but more Progressive and Minimal, maybe Psychedelic Breaks in the first part of the night and then move to the real trance stuff. I love trance but variety keeps the atmosphere fresh and vibes fresher. Chill out at the end really was a good Choice. I slept on a couch out for like an hour and then woke up as the chill came on and it was really beautiful... everywhere.
Lasers and Fog Suck. It definitely had a rave feel a bit, but you know it’s like the scenes are too small not to have some intermixing.
Projections were phenomenal.
Respect YOGI BBOx!

i really like the venue the first time i went ther
good underground location esp the rooftop

This location is really badass. I am hoping there will be more to come in the same place. The view from the roof was so surreal with all the heavy machinery in the industrial back yards, definately contributing to the overall mood. If i can't get sunshine and nature then fuck it, something like this is equally intricate. The visuals were, oh my god, no words, very involving but i wouldn't say the same for the deco. The crowd was good but i felt mixed vibe ...it would be better not to comment such touchy subject but i wish people would you know...give more.
As the weather is getting colder and colder the orgs should really consider making some kind of coat check or an area where people could leave their stuff.
Now the music part. Satisfactory sound system. I don't know how it was last time and i was worried a little bit about that, but i was prooved wrong because the sound was just crisp. No complaints. Iswara kicked ass. If i'm not wrong, I hear a lot of his own production which was really interesting, crazy triangular sounds and wicked samples from movies or whatever he used. Just too too many breaks and some of them were too long.
I wonder what happened to Muktiswara!!?!? I think i recalled a track or two from that project.
I missed most of Koxbox's set :/ i had to dedicate my humanity to a friend in need.
Can't wait for the next party.

Damn...
Looks like I missed a banger!
I guess Isvara has been traveling the globe telling twisted stories with his mastery of the one's and the two's.
Who will take up the full-power flag of the TDC crew?
Great time to be in NYC, methinks.
Too bad I'm in Philly...
But I guess it has always been a great time to be in Philly; since the GM crew is around.
Cheers to YBB and I hope to catch the next one.
See y'all big city folk around Thanksgiving!
Don't miss Fractal Rory next week for a taste of Philly!!! |

Indeed this party was a special one!
I apologize for arriving late, and to be able to play only a short set...
But I am glad people enjoyed the music.
Isvara, Ocelot, and Kox Box all played killer music!
Will be looking forward to more of their new music to come.
Also, Thank You to EVERYONE who came out & made this party happen.
Couldn't have been the same without all of you guys.
Finally big ups to the YBB crew.
Ur hard efforts really showed at this party.
Will be looking forward to more from you guys.
See you all at the next one

yes indeed looking forward to full energy parties in the middle of the forest and on the beaches of Goa,India....
oh yeah might i add some things regarding the party...no doubt the party, music and DJ's,visuals and decoration's were absolutely killer as i mentioned earlier oh yeah and the watermelon and the chai which i never found, but like a few people mentioned it seemed more like a rave.. i saw lot of "Candy kids" running about and next time pls loose the lasers and fog machine..well that's just my opinion..make it a psy party not a rave party..

@ calvin
well if this seemed like a rave
then unfortunatley goa is going to see like a rave too
there are no full energy parties in the middle of the forest oe on the beaches nemore
the best you will get is one night at hilltop and some lame parties at curlies shack in anjuna where all they play is cheeze nowadays...maybe even a party at west end where i did catch one night of good music last season but the place itself defeats the whole purpose of goa who wants to go to a club to listen to psy when they are in goa the home of the outdoor parties hahhaa goa in a party sense is finished
if u want to enjoy goa go to stay in arambol or head south to palolem and make some connects in chapora and find out if neone is actually throwing a real underground party ther might be one or two a season
good luck mate

+1
If you are picky about ravers dancing around you, avoid anjuna, baga and all of north Goa GO PALOLEM !!! u will def. have a wonderful time and can feel the state of mind that is Goa you might also want to get on to the island seen from the beach during low tides

thanks trick and vaportrail for the info.. yeah im taking as much info as i can from people..cause its been 3 years since i last went there... but yeah ive got a list of places in south goa, and karnataka... but id prefer not to mention them cause of all the party busting by the cops happening in India.. turns out the pigs are members of isratrance too.. so i dont mention any tranquil places ,well such as arambol and palolem..so i just mention the obvious so people have an idea..know what i mean..thanks..boom
oh yeah and another thing... in this day and age i would prefer a party in NYC rather than in goa..well me personally being goan and having uncles and aunts that lived through the 90's in goa , it makes me sad and angry to look what has happened to it with all the cop raids and violent crimes .. i know Goa is gone to the dogs..but i want to make the best of it. like they say "Goa is not a place, Its a state of mind"...boom

I had an amazing time, first psy since the metaforce parties last year and there was no comparison. The crowd was excellent and sound setup allowed for you to dance anywhere without feeling like you were missing something by not being up front. It was my first time being at my friend's loft for a party and I enjoyed the decor and the roof immensely. I'm glad psy's back and YBB threw a killer party. I won't be missing future events! |
