this party was indeed powerful ! got in to see Isvara killin it ... perfect start with the perfect tunes to set the cruise .... then it was time for Ocelot madness .... brilliant music just the way I like it ! waves and waves of psychedelica pouring ... so much of those twisted tunes that would not let u settle down but jus keep dancing inside out !!! was fun dancing to Kox Box's set ... good energy on the floor and superb morning colors from the rooftop

Ocelot's chill set was indeed special ... such good transition from night to morning aah jus loved it ... big ups to the team for setting this up and big boom to the artists and all my friends that made for a special night ... of what i heard about the next party from these guys and the artists they gonna bring in jus cant wait haha           *physical universe is finite....Spirit is infinite*

I had a great time, Isvara made my night, but not disappointed by anyone (loved Ocelot's groovy tunes and KoxBox's energized set was nice). I was a little weary of the crowd at times, but I guess this can be expected with such a large turnout.

One thing that really caught my attention while waiting for the bathroom was this animation on the screen. It was during KoxBox, with a huge guy dancing, and behind him was a skinny guy on the screen reacting to the bigger one. It was really awesome, and fit the track perfectly (especially when the skinny guy was being shot/pinned to the wall). I hope people know what I'm talking about...

But yes, it was a very good time. Thank you everybody!

Thanks for the party YBB! Excellent job on the organization, deco, sound, etc. Koxbox was the highlight for me and I enjoyed Ocelots set. Too bad I missed Fumi and Ken's set, heard it was also sweet. The sound distribution was much better for this venue this time around, I felt like the music was just as loud in the back as in the front. I also enjoyed the chill set at the end of the party, for some reason, it made for nice wind down and socializing moments with everyone. Some people have their doubts but so far I like this venue and hope to go back there again. Feels a bit "old school". Oh, and BIG thanks to those handing out the fruit and chai! I miss that at parties.

i had no ideaaa they were giving chai and fruits, damn i needa stop dancing and quench myself once in a while!
YogiBogeyBox, all i can say is:
i agree that the music system was excellent, i was able to dance all the way in the back feeling like the music was right in front of me. deco was excellent, the lights and the fog really put the icing on the cake though.
everyone's set was so good, far from disappointing, but i absolutely positively enjoyed isvara and ocelot to the bone! i knew they were crzy but not thisss crzy wohoo! i also loved the feeling of the sun peering in as koxbox took us higher and higher... ending the morning with ocelot's soothing chill.u guys had a great turnout in this party, house full.
thanks again YBB for my 9 hours of full-power stomping, what a treat!

I know what you mean. I think the venue is tied in with the Outlaw crew, and they always have sketchy characters at their parties. But I don't think there were any major problems with anyone, right? I know someone got caught trying to steal deco, which is really lame, and some stuff got broken. But that'll happen at such a large party.

Overall it was an awesome party, and this city needs more like that! It had more of a "rave" feeling than a psytrance party because it was so diverse, but it was still AWESOME!

It's too bad the Canadians didn't make it out. They always bring such beauty and awesome energy to the dance floor!

Thanks YBB!!!!

This party was good. My experience was not great, which is just my subjective opinion...

Deco - Maybe it was just because the deco at the repsychle party was so outrageous, but I truly felt the deco was sparing to say the least. The artwork itself was intricate, and well painted, however the layout and dispersion were poor. This refuge venue is a great place, and as we can recall from the initial pictures posted the venue can either be left as a shanty looking building or utilized for creating a sensational environs. The light, and fog machines and some pretty interesting visuals gave the venue a clublike feel and constituted the rest of the deco. I personally find the obnoxious lights and sobering fog to be a nuisance.

Music -
I arrived during isvara's set, which was surprisingly the most enjoyable set of the night. Isvara astonished me with a unusually funky, groovy, set contrasting his usual more atmospheric sets. The track selection was a combo of fresh familiar tracks, a few oldie but goodies, and some unreleased killas; the flow, and structure of Isvaras set was top notch full powa supurb.

Ocelot - WHen I saw ocelot at grandspace he played a wonderful live set followed by the most perfectly equed dj set I have ever heard, so granted my expectations were high. But geez was I disappointed by his set. On the dancefloor I only heard unreleased material that sounded um, to be nice, not carefully composed. And the dancefloor reflected ocelots dissonant melodies as the jumping and dancing turned into swaying and nodding. The sound quality was excellent despite the almost ungroovable tracks.

Koxbox began his set with a flabergastingly bootyshaking dj set. I was anticipating a much fluffier set based on his releases and myspace.

And then I left before I had the chance to hear anyone else...

Good Job YBB on your second partay. Awesome start, Still plenty of room for improvements, but with an open mind to criticism and change I am confident YBB will continue to rock our socks off.

Cant wait for thanksgiving at refuge and upcoming ybb parties.

Hello trance family,
What a night/morning... It took us three days to recuperate...

We have a lot of people to thank for a great event. The deco was a lot of work on the parts of many people, so a huge thanks to Sue for many sleepless nights & the creative mind of Uta. Many thanks to Mio, Timmy, Andrew, Fumi, Adam and his family and Ben for the help. Not to forget the new visuals on serge that put a smile on our faces throughout the night. Mashka, we hope to see your fire dancing in the near future.
The music was top notch from all the artists and it was nice to see Isvara, Ken and Progress putting on sets that really put the NY DJs In a positive light. Many thanks to Frank E, who was barely standing on his feet and only 20 joints would keep him playing. Its not easy battling a cold while playing for 3 hours. Ocelot as well did not disappoint with a wonderful chill set to take us into the late morning hours.
There are surely many things that could be done better and could be taken into consideration for future parties, but overall we loved the energy!

Most importantly, thanks you the entire community for coming out. It feels great to see a full house in the NY psy scene its very refreshing and it gives a lot of energy for the production of future events. We were hoping to see the Canadian crew but I guess we will have to wait until a future party.

Please write us for any comments or ideas, we love to work together with everyone who has the energy to contribute to our community!

I don't really agree on the content of this post but THIS is constructive criticism!! Great Review!!

as mentioned above the deco was nothing to write home about...esp' after experiencing the same space with that eye and mind bending psy mayhem of the Repsycle team.
I heard Isvara, Ocelot and Koxbox and enjoyed Ocelot's set only...BUT i am not a dark/fullon fan and did not expect to really dig any sets...Ocelot was a big positive suprise...
Met a lot of new and old friends and enjoyed the great vibes that i felt in the room...
the roof top is a huge treat and makes the space a million times better!
Good job YBB! keep going!

Cheers           "....or is it???"

Thank you YBB for throwing a fun party!
NYC needs the variety and we are definitely getting it with a lot of new orgz doing bigger better things........

I didn’t really care much for the fog machine and lasers as well but that’s me…I’m an oldie
The vibe was a bit different and a lot of drunk men all over……. did feel more like a rave scene
I felt like the vibe and energy in the beginning was amazing and slowly as the crowd grew bigger it just got a bit weird for me- but then again I’m an old foggy
I was looking fwd to this party but was a bit disappointed by both the music and the vibe – again this is just my opinion!
A LOT of people!!! It was packed packed packed!

My fav set definitely was isivara…amazing!
Ken and Fumi – soooooooo good to see Japanese power rock the loft!:)

Missed ocelots chill set which I hear was awesome as well…

The best for me as always was to see a ton of olddddd friends who came from far & close
Love u guys- u know who u r !

Misha and gang good luck with everything!!
( and hopefully u’ll get me to make chai for ur next banger as well )
