Yo sidechaining vs adsr

I tried using sidechaing with the tc native plugin and it gave me some nice results, but what´s the differences from making your kick shorter with adsr or using a sidechaineffect ?
Will the sidechain effect give me more groove ? cause that´s what i want.Is it possible to using the same sidechain settings for the percussion and synth´s aswell ?

Sidechaining can be used for anything. Maybe ppl are too much into "kick-bass" trick.

i guess people think that side-chain its some kind of magic trick that will make their kick-bass amazing or that is some skill you must know to create tight kick-bass.

Every tool and technique is good once you can recognize when to use them.
Take a kick and bass that NOT fit together and sidechain them. They'll get even worse.
Make a good kick and bass and if you feel that they're missing just a bit of groove and flow, sidechain them and the light will shine out of speakers
