Well, probably yes, what i said is that I couldn't do that. And I wouldn't mind if someone share a preset of such crisp and sharp sound for some vst.

after tweaking blofeld for 3-4 minutes i came up with this http://rghost.net/4872752
it is a wavetable 'Square-sweep' waveform, frequency modulated by other oscillator which has a triangle waveform. i sweeped the fm amount from 0 to 127, emphasizing the range i like best (somewhere between 70-80)
it is raw and unprocessed, but already clear that it has fm power which i couldn't get from vst i.

i think u have a heavy automation on the cutoff here lisenin to the lead... right?
i tried experimentin tryin to get a similar lead. will upload it in a bit once i switch my pc...

No, the only automation is the FM amount. I slowly turned it through the whole range from 0 to 127, where 0 is no FM and 127 is full FM.
Now I am eager to see what you did.

Yeah, and I am generally interested in getting fat FM sounds from vsti without too much additional processing. KDD is just a good example of it.

Digital FM power.
Well i guess for that Fm lead you need a bit more than one operator and the most tricky thing is the amount and it changes from synth to synth FM phaser, flanger overdrive,saturation , delay, filter and eq it is quite a bitch sound.
Kindzadza amazes me more with his song structure and crystal clear sound.

overdream u will have to be patient till i reach home n upload tht patch similar to this lead...
i tried to achieve the same usin 2 osc one with a saw wave form and other wid a triangle no detune.... a bit of phaser and flanger with a very high lfo speed wid cutoff/resonance automation.
also another thing tht comes in my mind now like dark said would it be a good idea to automate certain freq in the eq so it makes it sound more harsh and squelchy? |

I remeber Megalopsy posted a how-to on FM lead with FM7. But I didn't listen to the result. Can we reach anything similar with FM7/8?
