My current i5 processor is benchmarked faster than most i7 processors out there right now, and do not forget that with this motherboard you can always change to i7 later !!!

only the i5 750 is slower than the i7 920 but... the rest are of the new i7 1156 socket have a big disadvantage over the 1366 socket when it comes to ram performance in apps that depent on ram to function properly ( fl studio, photoshop etc) 3ple channel ram offers larger bandwidth and data streaming over dual channel ram.

i went for an i5 in the end  it arrives tomorrow, it will be the first time i have ever attempted building a pc
Zero-Blade and Orange, yeah i would have loved i7... and probably would have appreciated the 1366 platform when hexa-core comes out.
