So, after much talk, research and money saving my new baby has arrived and keeps me busy configuring, installing etc.
Specs are:
Intel Core i5 CPU 2.67 ghz
4 gb dual channel ddr3 ram
win 7 pro 32 bit
1tb hdd from Seagate with 32 mb cache
Asus P7P55D Motherboard
I opened FL Studio 9 and put 45 synths and heavy duty automation on, the cpu meter went to a mere 28%, kinda like "what, is t5his all you got?" Afterwards I discovered that while I was doing this the audio card was set to only 512 ms latency.
Upavas is in wonderland, and truly enjoying it!
Cost was a mere 1000 US $!
Yeah!!!!

Cool
I think I am going to set up a new workstation with an i7, and use either that or my current quad core as a server for nebula. Hopefully it will allow enough power for using almost all Nebula FX !
Enjoy your new comp Upavas, I am sadly still easily maximizing my current :S
Btw, a little OT, but do you ever have a hassle with FLs low memory availability (3gb with the 3gb switch in xp on)? I find that to be a major workflow breaker.

True as always Vegetal, but Pro Tools is not 64 bit capable yet, not sure if FL Studio is either? So I am waiting and likely reconfiguring once it is.
The Ram closes down at 3 gb as well, but the possibility is always there to go 64 bit in the future, and I will be ready! Mind you, on 64 bit they say I can put up to 16 gb ram in, wonder if that would even be worth it, as this ram that I have there seems to be absolutely sufficient. What I am thinking of adding on in the future is a faster hdd, because according to my specs that seems to be the weak point right now.
I was also thinking that one might not need as much computing power to go live, so a sufficient laptop is in the works... that will take a while though...

Yes, FL runs fine on 64, most plugins also.
My ram is capped @ 3,23gb in 32bit.

On that point, is it possible to add different HDD later and configure win 7 64 bit so one can choose? So One HDD with Win 7 32 bit and another with Win 7 64 bit...

You don´t need to add separate HDD to do a dual-boot. just create 2-3 partitions, 2 for different OS and one for storage. Im not sure but i guess Win7 uses like XP the boot.ini file when selecting which partition to boot from.
