well in terms of sound quality im sure its up for the job.. about drivers i dont know you just hve to try it out but usually ESI has solid drivers!
difference from the cards you say are minor to none, if you want to upgrade your sound quality output look nothing else than rme babyface. (more expensive but definitely worth it)
and hey im fine..

if you want low latencies and rock solid drivers stay away of focusrite.

Focusrite Saffire user here. Had it for 5 years and have never had any issues with it. It has simply been delivering, both on my quad MacPro and my i7 MacBookPro.
The stereo image is better than my old Delta 1010. The Saffire's ADC converters are also much better than the Delta's.
Peace out.

well been user of a focusrite pro24 dsp and despite it never really caused any issues... for a firewire card it never performed better than 6ms without cracks and pops.
my fireface 400 could do 1ms with less cpu hit than the focusrite in 5ms.
my native instruments komplete audio 6 usb can do 2ms without complain...
i liked the focusrite but if i look at it in terms of drivers the dudes over there should do better.
sound wise it was good with good focusrite preamps.
scarlet on the other hand has some serious driver issues and its all over the net.. soooo frankly my dear i dont give a damn... until its ironed...

You're splitting hairs over 5ms of perceived latency? |

well if you could have 1 TB SSDīs, maybe they would be good...
i installed musicsoftware to a computer of a friend of mine...
he has a 60GB SSD and a 1,5TB 7200 standard hard drive...
windows 7 is installed on the SSD. first it wasnt possible to install cubase on the 1,5 TB hard drive, because it wasnt possible to choose the directory (WTF). then i thought 60GB should be enough to handle those small vsts too... well NO. so i deleted all again, and installed it on the 1,5TB hard drive. well this is shit, because the sampler seems to get a littlebit confused because the samples are loading tatally slow now... with cubase on the SSD and the vst on the other one hard drive.
and thats not enough, any folder i put on the desktop = SSD, that means the 60 GB gets wasted when placing anything on the desktop.
also the cubases boot takes more time (installed on the HDD and its a i7 2600).
it needs longer then my computer with
standard hard disk and i5...
i personally have one 1TB 7200 hard drive, with anything installed there... i have never had problems.
as long as the SSDīs can only handle the boot up system, because of the small memory, they suck.
i will never ever go back to 2 different hard disks nor will i split a hard drive into 2 participations... this only means troubles and time waste on searching directories.

well if your experience is weird but understandable since a 60g ssd is a small disk.
but loading times should be fast.
i got an 120g ssd and a 500g hdd on my laptop and the gain in performance in loading times are huge.
