What is delay lama? And when was it over used? Because ive never heard this sound in anything in the past..oh 8 years.
Which have all had the same bass.
Madea, then what do you consider a bass?

You never heard of the delay lama sound? It was (too) popular like only 4 years ago. Check out this vsti, I think it's free and it makes exactly this sound. I don't have much track/artist knowledge, other people will have tons of examples where this sound is (over)used in leadsounds. No basses though allthough I don't think I'd like a bass sound like this, but that's personal taste I guess.

And sixofour - you talk a good talk, now let's hear YOUR complex and astral/emotional/touchy-feely bassline melodies
|
|
Tbh, that may be the hard part. ...i'm by no means an expert or pro. but i could come up with something, and have actually..but wether the melody was /astral/emotional/touchy-feely..is another story.
I did a google search and found delay lama synth...heh, if i would have known there was a synth that could make the sound, i wouldn't have spent all my time ina normal synth trying to make vowel sounds. As a bass though, i think it would be great, but that is personal opinion. |

I actually quite like the sounds in the OP...
as much as they have been done before, I've always liked vocal synth sounds like this. also I'm very keen on hearing people try and do different things with basslines in psytrance. sure this bassline might not work for the bulk of the track, but as an intro it might be perfect
I for one am SO over vb-1 kbbb
theres an infinite amount of different ways to fill those bass frequencies and still be danceable and interesting.
good on ya for trying something new sixofour
all the dude ever wanted... was his rug back...

lol..you believe there is a such thing as notes that arn't proper for bass?

Dude I was actually referring to the notes in your bassline. I believe in your bassline the lowest note was D# It was also the note without any formant sounds(could be wrong guessed by ear). In my opinion that was the only real "Bass note" in your bassline. Everything else was a bit more midrange.
Of course you would have to be a complete idiot to think that D# is the only note good for bass. |

Honestly..i stopped developing on the track right now. So the clip wouldn't be very good..tbh. As the track is still in alpha stage. The bass was really the only thing i had consistantly worked on...
However, the bass was going to be part of an old track i made which i am going to remix called Goa India..
You can find it at www.myspace.com/cronodevir
Or at http://cosmic-flower.freehostia.com/
Was the first track i ever finished..and it didn't even has a real bass. Lol. I was a total noob back then. |
