Don't know why would anyone say that it sucks. I haven't noticed anytthing unusual since installing it. It's the most stable MS Windows OS you can get imho.

I wish windows 2000 where compatible with multicore cpu and similar modern computer stuff. Cant get more stable than that. And i realy dont see any problem with SP3.

i think SP3 focus on network activities and protection, i didnt find any "stability" upgrades working with SP3 since updated for months now in comparison to SP2 and some daily updates, still working fine with it.
xrust is this happening when you work audio applications or generally you notice it is slower out of other programs? cause when you work audio is better to have all network activities disabled (1394ðernet) , antivirus protection deactivated too

@gutter:mostly with audio(cubase got too slow to open)...i have one pc for both internet and daw(i know that sucks)..
when i first installed sp3,i was happy.but after a couple of days ,when i finished installing all the plugins and other programs i am using(players,antivirus/firewall etc,not something heavy) i realized that it was taking too much time to load a trACk in cubase.i checked with other tracks too,and it was indeed slower than when i was doing the same things(and same stuff runing ) with sp2.
maybe i have a bad driver somewhere,i dont know..

see, keep in mind to deactivate networks & antivirus, i think ive experienced somehow the same, also one of the biggest CPU eaters is Kontakt and samplers generally, i use it in every project as my main sampler and every track loads slower when opening it,, much more when i have 10 different samples spread in Kontakt cause it has to trace them on the disk & takes longer time.. do you use any sampler youself? if its drivers, it sucks its the worst and more boring trouble solving thing. also i have a thought that some "try before buy" plugin editions (especially waves) cause some instability to the pc.

i dont use sampler(battery,when-rarely- needed).. posible to be a try be4buy,though i use waves for long time and i had no particular problems..indeed,searching for the bad driver or the bad plugin is the worst and more boring trouble solving thing, but i am setting up another pc for internet purposes only, and making a new clean fresh to leyko pou 3exwrizei install with tiny xp for daw
