raging in love! thank you to everyone who made it out to this gorgeous forest and celebrated! again, happy birthday, dave! we love you!
thank you to the djs and producers for putting ants in my pants! i especially enjoyed the second half of dOt's set which stirred me from my slumber and made me wish i was enjoying my free gift on the trance floor. tom, you're full power brother! thanks for making it up all the way from san diego after a day's work and still throwing down some funky psychedelia. piskey, lovely, thanks for the tunes. your set had me dancing the whole time.
thank you for all of the delicious, nourishing and interesting food and drink we shared! special thanks to moe, heidi, mary moon and jess for blessing our palates. wow, and now that i mention these goddesses i remember many others that made my mouth and belly happy!
a million thanks to the community shade brigade. it was quite fun and comical to wrangle that tarp in the wind like trying to subdue some wild four-legged.
thanks to those of you who extinguished your fires diligently. apologies for not stating clearly that there is currently a fire ban on our region of the earth.
it was great to see some old friends and meet some new. thanks to all of you, beautiful freaks of nature!
definitely a very fun birthday extravaganza!! Especially since I missed last years celebration due to an ear infucktion.
The heat definitely gave a sense of the playa out there, but the trees were a sign from the heavens!! this made the spot just visually stunning as well. Not a cloud in the sky during our stay there, amazing stars all over during the night, and a completely un-forgiving sun frying us in the day. Even got to see the Cheshire moon pop up during Dave's set.
The main dance area was a giant bowl surrounded by very rocky hills, this allowed the sonic vibrations to be felt and heard no matter where you were. I got only a couple pictures because my camera started acting up.
We got there when Skeptych was on, Jordan has some very cool music. He got me stomping 5 minutes after arrival then Catalyx and Bamba kept my feet very happy for the next few hours. Sorry Dave, I couldn't be front and center for your tunes, I had to rest up before playing. However, as I mentioned in my previous paragraph, I was still able to hear it while resting my dog's.
DOT has upped the ante significantly, very interesting sounds mixed with some big bubbly bass. Keep up the good work bro!! Some day I want to get stupid with your modular, the toys you brought out were really slick.
Based on the peeps that came out, this was like your normal, weekday chillout session with close friends. Except add Daniel's crisp and clean sound and stellar nature surrounding you. Would have been great to see more heads out there, but the ones that did make it are the true hardcore's.
After I finished playing, Quasar continued the sillyness, then Dylan got my brain dancing after him because my legs finally gave out. Fractal Sunshine, I think that could be an accurate description for the Cowboyz style of bounciness.
I was missing Spyros though, would have been a great change in the music. Sometimes you need a little melody and funk to break up the brain bashing hard stuff.
All in all this was a wild adventure full of freeway antics on the way there and back (saw a bunch of accidents, a fire on the freeway in Long Beach, 18-Wheeler flipped over on the 99 South). I got to stomp out some much needed stress, got to connect with old friends I haven't seen in a bit, and met a handful of new folks as well.

Hope you had a blast Dave, you had a big ole grin every time I saw you. Cheers baba!!
Incredible journey into da woodz.. coming from l.a. it was like taking a tour of central California. The plain drive is well worth it once you hit yosemite. this location was awe inspiring.. the clear sight of the milky way did it for me. simply wow. It was a blessing to be there and share in the celebrations. Dave, thanks again for the experience. without a doubt this was a proper birthday celebration. cheers
I hadn’t noticed it but I guess in the mix of things I was able to record a minute or so of the gathering.. beats me how I was able to use that thing at that point in the night

thanks everyone for the music, goodies, snacks (mmm squash muffins with goat cheese frosting), and especially the shade. it was damn hot.
quantum frog, ca
Memories of lying in the shade literally panting like a tired dog. Unexpected, for sure, but I found something special in the utter impossibility of exertion. Well, not everyone was too hot and tired to move, not at all. You know who you are, and I envy and admire you. Nonetheless, I tend not to be the most animated socialite anyway. But I felt myself coming out of my shell a little. Maybe the oppressive heat acts as an equalizer (or should I say brickwall limiter!). Maybe the warm and interesting folks. Maybe the zucchini muffins!
Thanks to all who facilitated and participated in this event, especially those who stuck around for our (sweatshop boys) set! I thank you for selfish reasons, really. The sounds we produce are one thing, but the more heads that occupy the space in front the speakers the better the psychic energy that reflects off of your minds--which we very much enjoy! Of course this dualistic relationship is symbiotic, and produces a feedback loop such that more open, exhausted brains leads to better chill sessions for all!
I thoroughly enjoyed all the music, too, especially Knob Goblin, DOT, and Piskey. Keep it up!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Finally a minute with the internet here to write something...
What an experience throwing this party, so very very stressful to do it, and so oppressively hot during the day. But as many people have mentioned, the music was incredible. I enjoyed everyone's sets thoroughly. Our little family battled through the heat to enjoy some amazing tunes, non-stop, thru-out the day.
It is important to mention many specific thanks:
First of all Justin, if it weren't for you there'd have been no shade, and that would have been an utter travesty. Thank you for pulling through when others (absent others) seemed completely unreliable.
Then Daniel Waid, you went far beyond the normal demand of a sound guy... thank God you brought that f'ing tarp.
And Karo... Vice President of Xexify... you did your job well
And a very special thanks to all the people who showed up. I guess it's too far for your average trancer, which i don't quite understand. I would drive 15 hours for a party like this. But whatev... we will do it all over again some other time and see what happens
By the way Nomadics your video of my set is awesome!
ultra-powerful BoomShiva to you all... please post any pics or videos you have, i never have any pics from my parties.
Oh and Shai, happy b-day, forgot to tell you.
