i dont have a jp8000, but i have been planning to get one later on maybe.....only because its a classic
No theres def. not only metalic sounds, another insane patch they made is the one in "Ghost in the machine" @ Qlimax in the track around 05:30!! i love the work on that timbre, so many things happening to it at once, if i hear right then it must be: pitch bending, cutoff, and LFO on/off - or something similar - they squeeze it to death

to be honest I've heard many sounds in his latest album and I recognize many sounds I already have. So I don't think they make their own patches, at least not as much as u think they do. |

I tend to choose sound by its experssion abillity,
if a preset can offer that, there is no need to tweak..
dont get me wrong on the word tweak now.. cause all parameters can be used for experssion, but i mean like
velocity sensitivty, key track, Feg depth and so on... those kind of tweaks...
stuff like this sometimes has to be made to make the patch express it self like i want it to...
this is also a form a patch making, but not making a sound from scratch...

seriously? If i need metallic sounds the nord is one of the first synths i turn too (well, synth1, but it's virtually the same thing)... because it's very easy to get metallic sounds from it... try it out, you'll find a lot of metallic sounds within one hour of starting... |
