trance people since 1996 or 1997 started to refuse the techno and house movement mostly because that sound became commercial and on a hype feeling,many that i know only refused it by the people who went to the parties(we always had elitists that usually are the ones who go first in their own ghettos).one trance music that had housey elements was now seen as bad...and the trance had the real psy-scenario and the acid gave the power and put many people think they were part of a special GROUP(i hate groups)...............................................................................absurd isnt it?if you think that trance come from the disco and rock and caves music like ALL the music...but you know what?that same people that rejected house and techno are now rejecting psy and full on because they say its for kids(kids as they were or are yet,is this because they went to cocaine or because is a cleany mood that housey movement?i tell you what:all about this is a hype and many people loves music and many x 2 people just follow hypes.its because this you have this happening,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for me good techno good house good psy good minimal just make me fall in TRANCE so isnt so strange thats happening anyway todays trance movement its a bit closed(socially speaking)but its more open than ever in the composition because acid reptiles have finally understood that is more music on the planet and who knows out of it?........................i really loved the playlist of this one!!!!!!love to you from gabi |

This discussion is pointless the moment you call acts like D-Nox, new Infected Mushroom and many others psytrance. The differentiation between house / eurotrance / psytrance is a thing of the past once full-on and prog (and to a lesser extent, techtrance as well) are mentioned. Not saying that the music is bad, a lot of people dig it, but even in 94-95 the difference between psy and clubtrance wasn't that clear cut. Robert Miles - Children (yes, the huge MTV hit) was first released on a psytrance compilation (VA - Platipus Records vol. 2), next to Union Jack - Red Herring.
Of course, there's music which is most definately psytrance and nothing else, but that's under 50% of the music released in the psytrance world nowadays.

more interesting question is what do they want with this "neo trance" thing..

Probably YSE saw that many djs in trance scene are moving from progressive sounds to this new age style...So YSE want to introduce this sound to trance culture and make their future jobs more easy because progressive will die completely in a couple of years and minimal techno/tech house will replace it (it has already replaced progressive in the whole dance scene except the psy scene which finally accepted progressive sounds after many years.Now it's late guys!!)...Personally I liked the move of YSE (Ok I don't agree with the title too) because maybe give a chance to this music to be accepted by the supposed to be openminded psy trancers who are saying no to any kind of music than psy-trance and bongo chills..(The most important think that make me to think to leave away the "psy area" for more electronic end experimental genres watching only some specific artists and labels from the psy scene
